Good morning again, still dark, but still raining.
It has eased off though, yesterday the rain and wind was terrible.
We weren't out at all, but I must go out this morning, just locally though.
We are going to a birthday party this afternoon, our Dil's mum and one of her grandsons share a birthday, so the party is at Dil's brothers house.( Getting complicated)! Anyway it's not far, just a short car journey.
Talking about the car, it went in to the garage on Thursday for investigation of a rattle, and it's going to cost rather a lot of money to repair. It's a big old workhorse of a car, but we need it to tow the caravan. Anyway , it's going back into the garage next week for the job to be done. The mechanic said it's perfectly safe to drive for now, so we can continue using it.
Snoozer you certainly had a day of it on Thursday, hope things have calmed down now.
Gers, hope the road situation is soon sorted out, though it sounds as if the council has got on to it . Poor folks trapped, hope they're all ok.
Glad your finger is starting to heal Ruby.
Taff, you are meeting yourself coming back as usual !
I'm with you on the fireworks Izzy, I've come to hate them. My dad always used to do fireworks for me, and we did for our children, but they didn't make the noise that fireworks do now.
Hope your weekend goes well Camelot, your house must be gleaming!
Rosy, I meant to say the other day, have you got your card making mojo back?
When we come back from Oz, I'm going to get back into card making, this year I've hardly made any.
We find our de humidifier very handy TA, it's amazing how it helps to dry the washing.
Hope everyone has a good day today, thinking of Coxy and her dad, and anyone else who isn't well.
Take care folks.10 -
Thanks for starting us off Scarlet. Have a lovely time at the joint party. The council have got workmen on the collapsed bridge 24 hours to rebuild it all. Photos show a big hole where the bridge was though something should be up very soon. The other blockage will take a couple of weeks to be bypassed, the plan is to enhance a forestry road as a temporary solution. The high winds have dropped down considerably now but there's still rain. The red weather warning is for area to the east and north of the country.9

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, hope you enjoy the party. Boo to the car repair, hope it's not too expensive.
Not a lot happening here but will go swimming in a while and hopefully some shoes I've ordered arrive at the shop and I can go and collect them. Also waiting for a delivery, may have to leave a note if I go out as I would like the contents for next week.
Hoping everyone is safe, warm and dry from the storm, luckily it has bypassed us and it's just been a bit drizzly with a bit of a breeze. Hope the bridge and road repairs don't take too long Gers.
I had a nice visit from a friend yesterday who was dropping off a present for the happy couple, I'll see her again next week. I was a little embarrassed as I was lounging about under the heated throw watching TV in my PJs!
Just the living room to attack this weekend, I may move the furniture around for a change.
Have a good weekend, take care. XX9 -
Morning everyone thanks for starting us off scarlet and enjoy the birthday celebrations we got back from the theatre last night and the little dog had been alright we had left the television on quite loud so hopefully that helped or the weather did we didn’t think we were going to get the weather was atrocious I rang the theatre but they said the performance was going ahead so we decided to set off and if it was to bad we would turn round and come home but we just went steady away but there was plenty of idiots flying past us they have obviously never heard of driving to the conditions lots of police and ambulances flying about but it was a great night would definitely recommend it and they did a blood thirsty cocktail which my daughter in law had I had the mocktail I can’t drink since the menopause don’t know why the smallest amount just makes me I’ll apparently it was vodka grenadine lemonade and frozen raspberries and raspberry juice it was delicious but the theatre was half empty a lot of people cancelled. Stay safe Gers I wouldn’t worry about sitting about in your PJs Camelot my it’s your house and your relaxing my grandma used to always say there are two welcome’s in this house you are welcome to stay and your welcome to go . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. It's a much better start here than yesterday. The torrential rain and strong winds have left us and we just have a mizzly day in store today. But my thoughts are with the poor folk in the east of Scotland who still have the storm with them. I dread to think of the expense involved in getting everywhere sorted out.
Without going into the whole sorry saga I am awaiting a call from an IT person about my locked email account! I wasted hours yesterday first giving lots of details on line to a useless bot not set up to understand my problem, before the bot told me a virtual assistant would text me back on WhatsApp.. 2 hours later he did and I was left tearing my hair out as he was as bad as the bot. He said he would pass my problem on to an IT specialist who would ring me within 24 hours (!!!) to sort me out. So I am here with bated breath awaiting the call whenever it happens! It's a good job I didn't have plans for today!
DD and girls are off to the caravan today for the last week of this season. Rather them than me in this weather. Then the big shut down will begin with lots of stuff coming back for winter storage. Thanks to the wet summer we have had we haven't made as much use of it as we had hoped. Oh well maybe next summer will be a better one!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and MIA. Thoughts are with COXY and her DDad and anyone in the flooded areas. Take care all and be safe xxx

Morning all, thanks for starting Scarlet & yes I have got the cardmaking mojo back with lots done for Xmas and some upcoming birthdays- I've got 2 boxes shoved down the side of the sofa with equipment in. I'll get fed up with them making a mess soon & pack it all up again. Enjoy the party! It was very windy last evening but DGS match was on, though strangely DGD training night was called off at the same venue- the pitch wasn't waterlogged, turns out it's 3g. His DM managed to get there just before half time so that was nice, it's hard for her working and having 2 littlies as well. Rinse and repeat this morning for DGS- can you tell he lives and breathes playing
then off to our town team stadium this afternoon. I must remember to take DB2s birthday card with me.
Gers, how awful for the people stuck between the 2 places, hope the bridge is done soon for them. The wind seems to have died down here now, I heard a tree came down near DGS school.TA hope you get your email sorted very soon.Glad you enjoyed your evening Izzy.Hope your deliveries arrive Camelot.Taff slow down ,makes me feel tired just reading your postsCoxy, continued best wishes for your DD.Oh a bit of OS- I left a beef stew in the slow cooker, which was welcome after being stood out last nightplenty left to freeze too. I've had to juggle my menus this week, it'll have to be stir fried pork tonight otherwise the ingredients might go off. Shame, like a cheeky takeaway on a Saturday
Right better go, take care all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
Hi everyone,
Scarlet, enjoy the party.
TA, I hope you get your email sorted. I'm lucky that I have my own IT specialist on hand, Steve has worked in computing since a small machine would f fill a house.
Gers, it sounds horrific, I hope they get it sorted soon.
Yesterday was another busy day but I got to the gym. Esben broke up for half term, he needs a bit of a rest I think.
We shall be spending most of the weekend preparing for sister in law arriving.
Have a good day.9 -
Afternoon everyone! Dull and grey but not raining.Done nothing all morning. Yesterday OH gave me a hand to stack the rest of the wood when it stopped raining I filled another alcove halfway then he started passing me the wood, took no time at all after that. Both alcoves are now completely filled and we have a basket full in front of the fire and a bucket of kindling and small bits. One winter job ticked off the list. We're going away in a couple of weekends for one of OHs friends fiftieth so I said I'd make lasagne for everyone [ qbout 16 people] so I made a vat of sauce last night , got one of my big saucepans out for it. That will have another cook today then cool and freeze. Made a frittata which is almost gone [oh munched it up, 8 eggs!] I also have some chicken marinading in yoghurt in the fridge and I'll cook that in a bit to freeze for wraps. I said I'd make enchiladas too so better start collecting things for that too. Can you freeze refried beans? Not much planned for the rest of the say, I am exasperated with the state of the back bedroom and am itching to clear out more.Scarlet, I'm sorry your rattle was a big one not a small one. Gers, they deserve some praise ofr prompt action then! camelot, your house, your pj rules!
izzy, glad you enjoyed the theatre, sounds like a great night. TA, hope your e-mail gets sorted. Rosy, enjoy the match..again
snoozer, glad to see you taking it easy after your op [not!]
Coxy, hope your dad is as good as he can be. nanny, where'd you go? Take care all, enjoy the day!
