No written evidence the debt has been written off...

I've had 6 debts that I have been paying a minimum payment of £1.00 per month for about 10 years. They are all now written off due to my mental health or partially settled and I have written evidence for 5 out of the 6.

In October last year I contacted one of the creditors as I had a letter saying it had been returned to the original creditor. I contacted the original creditor to enquire what was happening and I was informed that my outstanding debt had been grouped with a batch of debts in the bank that had been written off. I was excited to hear this and stopped the monthly standing order. I never actually got anything in writing from the bank to confirm this but I have not paid anything and I have not been contacted.

I was hoping that if I checked all of my 3 statutory credit files I would see evidence of this debt settled, written off or partially settled. Annoyingly on none of my 3 credit files I have no evidence of any debt being settled, none of them show anything.

Anyway, I am wondering do I dare to contact the bank to get this conversation that took place a year ago in writing to go with my other 5 letters of evidence. I am scared contacting them with a strange request could liven the whole debt up again??

Please can anyone advise me what to do. I do not want to take any risks. Many thanks in advance.
