Hi everyone,
Had a bit of a day yesterday. We went over to Crystal's early so that we could look after Nate while she had an appointment. Thankfully his tummy bug seems to be finally clearing up, I think the GP was quite worried about him, he saw him on Tuesday, rang on Wednesday and asked to see him again and then rang yesterday asking Crystal to bring him in today. He ate well yesterday though which was a big relief, Crystal is still breastfeeding him so at least when he was refusing solids he was still getting nutrients and the comfort of feeding.
Unfortunately Laura rang about midday to say that she had an awful migraine so I ended up going home to look after Esther and pick up Esben from school. I then took them both back to Crystal's to pick up Steve who'd stayed to do a couple of jobs around the house. By the time I was home I was exhausted.
Chris and Crystal have asked us to spend Christmas with them which I'm thrilled about. L and B and the children are going to Glasgow and we thought C and C would go to her mother's but they have decided to stay at home. They have asked any of her family who would like to to come as well so it could just be the five of us or if all her family come it could be it could be nearly 20! I think Crystal thinks that's unlikely though.
Today I have an aqua aerobics class, the first since my foot op but that shouldn't be a problem. Brian is going to Wales for a couple of days and Laura has an acupuncture client this afternoon so we will have the children then. This weekend will be sorting the sewing room which B has been using as a study so that we can turn it into a bedroom for Steve's sister who is coming down for a few days on Monday.
Have a good day.

Morning everyone thanks for the start NMLC it’s been a wild and wet night and it’s still going it’s treacherous out there we are supposed to be going to Darlington theatre tonight to see a new production of Frankenstein it started Wednesday and it’s got rave reviews I hope it doesn’t get cancelled although they were letting fireworks off last night and the little dog was shaking in her boots it’s awful for her and awful to see I hope it’s still windy and pouring down tonight it might put them off we will leave the television on some off them sound like bombs going off they are that loud why can’t we just keep it to bonfire night the poor animals in the fields must be terrified. Off to work now last one of the week thankfully I don’t know if it’s the dark morning’s or nights but I’ve felt tired this week wait until tomorrow when I don’t have to get up I will be wide awake. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Morning All
Hope everyone is safe and well, thankfully it's just a bit breezy here with some rain but not much.
I had a lovely lunch out yesterday but was a bit full, still feeling stuffed this morning! Last day of the holiday, I have the dentist this afternoon for a check up of all the work that was done a couple of months ago, apart from that I've nothing planned.
More cleaning to do today, the house will be shining by the time my visitors arrive!
Stay safe and well, take care. XX10 -
Morning all, thanks nmlc.Rained all night & still at it. Had a quietish day at home yesterday, brightened by my oldest friend ringing. Not spoken for a while as she has been doing jury service. They are going away for a few days at half term so we'll arrange a meet up when she gets back. I made Italian meatballs for tea, not sure about tonight, we have to pick DGS up and take him to a football match for 4.30 as long as the pitch isn't waterlogged, so need something easy.Izzy I'm with you regarding the fireworks, dratted things, as you say they are so loud these days.Snoozer sounds like you've been very busy!Camelot, make the most of your last day of hols, sounds like a good lunch.I need to do some washing today, no chance of it drying outside though.Hope everyone stays safe during this stormy weather x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Yesterday was mostly fine, not much rain though the wind was persistent. I really enjoyed the pool session in the morming, not many there is time, perhaps it was the weather which held them back.Today the winds are much higher and gusting harder, my garden furniture is all toppled over but it can stay that way for now. I had vague plans to go into the wee town though I'm ditched that idea.Unfortunately the road the other side of the huge landslip which cuts me off from Oban has had another big problem. Yesterday an ancient bridge which takes all the traffic up to Oban has had to be closed as it was so dangerous, not even pedestrians are allowed over it. The only other route is a long winding single track road that isn't even a haul road so very unsuitable for much more than the odd car. That means that some people are trapped between two closures and can't go north or south. The council are urgently putting in place a temporary bridge and then building a new one, they are under such pressure.Snoozer - what a day you had. I really hope that today and the weekend are easier for you.Izzy - that Frankenstein sounds interesting. On Monday I posted a wee packet to my dearest friend who lives in Darlo, it still hasn't arrived. She tells me that the mail is really slow there.Camelot - exciting times coming up for your family. Please don't run yourself ragged!Rosy - I hope that the match can take place.12

Morning folks. What a night that was. I was awake with torrential rain battering my bedroom window and I thought it was going through at one point! Once it was daylight DD sent me a photo of her back garden. Crikey what a mess. Where she is she has magnificent views all over the valley but is exposed to the wind from all directions. At least we are not flooded like a lot of the poor folk in eastern Scotland.
SNOOZER what a day you had yesterday. Hope today isn't a repeat of it.
Yesterday's washing festooning the upstairs is dry this morning and I will gather it all up shortly. That will be replaced by the towels and bath mats currently in the wm. It's a full time job emptying the dehumidifier this weather! Then I have the pleasure of the Friday Tidy.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. I hope you have all escaped storm damage. Take care and be safe xx

Morning everyone
It was wet and wild all day yesterday and is the same today - at one point yesterday we let the children stand at the safety gate just watching the torrential rain for 5 minutes.
I usually go down to mam and dads on a Friday morning but I'm not venturing out until DD picks me up for work - I'll phone dad and discuss his banking with him.
I've still got such an achy back and shoulders - I stink of deep heat! I've been using my little Tens machine too, it eases for a bit but then comes back.
The problems with your roads sound like they could take a while to fix Gers.
I'd best get on, hope everyone has a good day today x

Morning! And what a rubbish morning it is weather wise anyway, everything is completely sodden. We had a wood delivery yesterday and an impromptu visit from OHs mum, bearing bread and butter pudding so I gave her some spanakopita in exchange. First time I've made it, I enjoyed it but I think next time I'll attempt a spiral. I stacked some wood, enough to fill one alcove completely , then had to stop, through knackeredness and rain but I'd thought ahead for a change and put a tarp down so most of it is still sitting there under the tarp to stack today if it stops raining. I've got the household accounts to do today, and a thing to knit. I did start it last night after learning a stretchy cast on but then I dropped a stitch, couldn't find it, so unpicked the rows I'd done and I'll start again today. It's rib stich or it will be, and as it's a birthday present, I don't want to give something less than perfect. I usually end up starting and unpicking a few times before I get into a rhythm...the crochet blanket meanwhile has been put to bed for a bit , I discovered dragon scale stitch so I've added in a few rows of that. This thing will weight a ton when it's done.Gers, how awful for the stuck ones. Good on the council for going all guns blazing. Izzy, fingers crossed for a lie in for you. And yeah, the fireworks, and they're not exactly cheap either so someone has a lot fo disposable income to be buying them...snoozer, that's all a bit full on, hope you get a relax soon. camelot, hope the check up is quick and painless. Ruby, hope your finger is improving...shout out to nanny..and to the rest of the mia, hope you're all ok...take care all...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10

Morning all
Its been raining heavily all night but stopped for a while now till it comes back with a vengeance tomorrow, washing will have to go on the airer again.
My finger is less painful and you can see the infection coming out now so I think the tablets are doing their thing.
Dinner tonight will be chicken curry and I have some Naan breads to go with it and I will do some saffron rice, just the right food for this horrible weather.
Gers it sounds dreadful for the poor people who are trapped I hope it can be sorted soon for them xx
Snoozer you sound very busy but how wonderful that you are on hand to help with the grandchildren I bet your children are very grateful xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Morning all (just) and thanks for the start @nmlc x
Apparently the rain was heavy here last night but I was sparko! DH said it woke him up. I was nodding donkey at 9.30pm - just can't seem to stay awake lately. Think it's stress-related.
DDad is settled in the private hospital an hour from home. Hoping they can drain the fluid off his lung today but they need a CD of the CT scan apparently, so Stepmum has asked a neighbour to take her to the general hospital to collect it and then on to the private hospital. It's all go.
Sorry to hear the wind and rain have caused such damage elsewhere in the country. Hope everyone has enough supplies to be able to stay home and keep warm and dry until this passes.
Dinner tonight is pork bolognaise - need to pop out to get the pork mince as missed it off the A$da delivery doh!
Glad your finger infection is clearing up @RedRuby1231 x
Hope you can get things cleared for SIL @snoozer - you always sound so busy x
Ooh bread and butter pudding @-taff my absolutely fave.....nomnomnom x
Have a good day all
