Non payment of tax and pension

Options
Hi I’m not sure where to start to fix these issues.

My previous company who I worked for 1 year, on my payslips has made deductions for tax and NI but this hasn’t reached HMRC.

the same company has also made deductions for my pension but this money has not reached my pension provider.

I have tried to resolve this myself by reaching out to the company but I have been ignored on the numerous attempts.
I have spoken to HMRC who have no record of my employment there and they suggested I report them for tax fraud online but it’s hard to pin point the type of fraud on their online form.

I have also reached out to my pension provider and they also have no record of any payments being made to my pension.

could anyone please help me of where to go to resolve this. There is a lot of money that is missing.

Thanks

  • For tax and NI it is of no consequence to you if the money is paid to HMRC or not, that is between HMRC and your former employer.

What is key is that they report your earnings under the Real Time Information rules and if they haven't done that then it's that that needs correcting.

    Is PAYE fraud an option?
  • Contact the Pensions Regulator about the pension contributions deducted.  They have the legal power to prosecute companies who fail to send pension deductions to the pension provider.

Did your employer give you a P45 when you left showing pay and tax?
  • Hi after a number of attempts a P45 was not issued. I have payslips showing all the deductions.

It could be if HMRC don't have a record of OP actually being employed by the former employer.

Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
