With the night of fright coming up, please let me know if you spot any noteworthy deals in the supermarkets. Offers on pumpkins? Themed treats? Trick-or-treat suitable multipack savings?

Thank you. 🦇

Not what you're after but frankly I see very little in the shops that I would consider suitable Hallowe'en treats/food/drink.  But then I had a warped childhood growing up over 60 years back in a place where Hallowe'en was a major event.  Problem was my dad was a dentist so refused to give out sweets.  We had the only house anybody knew about that gave out apples, toothbrushes and toothpaste.  Sigh.

But having been over "there" just a couple of weeks back I was delighted that Zehrs had lovely big bags of mini O'Henry bars (50 for 5.99+GST+PST) as well as Turtles (20 for 6.99+GST+PST) (call those totals £10 all in).  So I'm sorted for a while assuming I can keep them away from the OH.  And I remember to floss afterwards.

Love this @Brie. The image of your household doling out apples and toothbrushes is just too charming.

If you're with Vodafone's VeryMe Rewards, you can get a free pumpkin from Saino's worth up to £2.
  • We give out bags containing a packet of crisps, a funsize chocolate bar, a mini pack of haribo and a swizzels sweet...last year we made 150 bags and were out by 18:30 so this year I am making 200 bags. Obviously I check all the major supermarkets for the best deals as it's rather expensive and I've found the best deals to be:

Asda 24 pack own brand crisps for £3.35
Asda 60 swizzels sweets for £3.50
Sainsburys 20 funsize chocolate bars for £2.50
Morrisons 60 mini bags of Haribo for £6.50

Other deals may be better in other stores, but that's just what's close to me. Iceland do 12 packs of Happy Snax crisps for £1 which I thought was good but the ones close to me never have them in stock

Lidl has offers on pumpkins and some cool looking recipes for Halloween food. For those who have fireworks in the garden, Morrisons has an offer on Heinz soups.

I knew Halloween to be a Big Deal in the US and Canada, but I was amazed that the retail promotions were flourishing back in July!
