Hello, I'm back.
It seems to be fine, cold though - yesterday was nippy.
Camelot hope your dg d was ok getting her hair cut, so many young children aren't. Mine weren't, neither were the grandchildren. The only way our dg d would have a haircut was if granddad held her, she wouldn't even let her mother hold her.
Ouch about your car mistake Chrisca, you won't do that again.
Rosy, Bury market sounds nice, I've heard about it. People go on bus trips there from here.
TA, did you get your Christmas shopping started? I'm hardly doing any this year, apart from the 2 youngest grandchildren, I'm giving everyone money. I'm not making a Christmas cake or puddings either, breaking a tradition of over 50 years !
Izzy hope you managed to get a new tv.
Hope everyone has a good day, thoughts to anyone who is poorly or sad.
Take care folks.

Morning allManaged to keep myself out of trouble yesterday! Made a fruit loaf in my breadmaker which I haven't used for a long time and also made some Twinks. My DS loves them so am glad they freeze so well as he won't be getting his share until next weekend when he's popping in.Gave in and turned the heating on yesterday for the first time this year. Felt quite chilly while sitting down watching the rugby yesterday afternoon. Not much going on today. Towels to hang out for a blow, a few bits to iron. Pasta and meatballs for dinner.Have a good day and take care all x11

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Cor blimey a cold start this morning, the heating is on and I am loathed to knock it off. But the sun is up and the sky is blue so it might warm up a fraction soon!
I managed my trip to Harrogate yesterday but it was a long trip due to a massive diversion thanks to the new section of road which is now underway over the Blubberhouses. The journey time was doubled so until it's open again I'll not go again. I didn't get as much shopping as I had hoped but I did get 2 birthday presents (middle DGD and BIL) plus some stocking fillers and a couple of treats for myself!! (A pair of earrings and a Laura Ashley watch from the TKMaxx clearance) I was cold and tired by the time I got home and missed most of Strictly as I fell asleep under my heated throw. I shall watch it again later and hopefully stay awake this time!
I have some cottage pie base out defrosting and will make a pie up for lunchtime. Just a few veg to prep.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all and be safe and warm! xx

Morning.Yesterday I set off early doors to Glasgow for a couple of chores. I was back home by 1pm so had good trips each way. Then I decided to prune the big rose bush outside my front door. It hasn't been done for at least five years, it should really have a more severe pruning but I'm not sure exactly how much to take off. I also cleaned the inside of my cars windscreen which was smeary. How it gets like that I don't know but it's cleaner now. It's chilly here too so need to sort out winter woolies.10

Morning all.
The weather has definitely changed and we had a frost down here in MK last night so the heating has been put on this morning. Our living room is showing 16 degrees atm so I hope it warms up later.
Had a lovely day out yesterday on a Morris Day of Dance. We had a double decker bus and toured places close to Tring and Aylesbury, including Tring Brewery, where the chaps got stuck in to the beer at 10.30am! Got home in the dark and then caught up with the rugby - NZ v Ireland was such a great match.
I now have one load of washing in the machine and will do a second when that finishes. Have got some lamb steaks out of the freezer as have some sort of Marsala marinade from the C Larder and will see what that's like and if it's worth getting again.
Stay warm everyone.11 -

Morning. Very brisk here today, the temperature tells me it's 1 degree. Bit of a shock after the mild weather...I succeded in my big fat zero, some crocheting was done, an yesterday I pretty much crocheted or played Hearthstone with OH or watched films all day. I've decided on a few things that will be going on Tuesday to the new recycling place, I saw they have chairs and my sister is looking for some to replace the dodgy ones in her kitchen that are well over 40 years old and have been repaired to an inch of their lives so I'll take a look for her. Someone said shepherds pie and now I'm thinking, well, why not, it's either that or fishcakes today
Or maybe pork chops and roasties...I think it must be breakfast time, I can't think when I'm hungry
Florence, glad mr f's procedure went well. Ruby, glad your mums did too. Izzy, we had one repaired before, a capacitor went, so I found someone to replace it, it wasn't much, fifty quid, for something that would cost a lot more new. Chris, I thought the petrol nozzles were different sizes so you can't do that? But oh dear and oops....Scarlet, i hope your rattle is innocuous too....Gers, if you do a search for Gardeners World and Monety Don, he did do a programme all about roses and how to prune them. TA, that's my usual trick too, thank god for pause buttons and rewinds on computersWL, sounds like fun! NRA, safe travels! Take care all, shout out to the poorly and the mia...other than that, have a beautiful day!

Morning all
It seems to have turned cold here too, yesterday DD and I took the dogs out for about 3 miles and stopped at the pub for a drink on the way back we sat outside with the dogs and got colder and colder by the time we got home we are cold to the bone so the log burner was lit and we had a very cosy evening.
We have mum coming for dinner today I am doing a roast pork and all the trimmings I think I will do yorkshires as well as they are my absolute favourite things to eat 😃 we will probably light the fire later as we don’t want to (can’t afford to) put the heating on yet.
Yesterday OH bought me a big enamel sign, I have been after one for ages to put above the cooker but they are so expensive they go for several £100’s he saw one at the boot sale and the chap wanted £60 so he snapped it up, it’s beautifully aged and is advertising Lyon’s bread - it’s beautiful and is now above the cooker.
Will get the dogs out later and have a quick tidy through.
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning All
Cold this morning but bright and sunny. Yesterday was the same but there were a few odd showers but not much. Washing was all dried and put away, I'll peg out the white load that's just finishing, hopefully that will be dry and I can get it put away.
The little one loved having her hair cut (only an inch or so off), I went to collect her when she had finished, I walked and she rode her bike some of the way - she's so nosy we had to keep going back to look in people's gardens! DD was ages so the little one had her lunch here and we played games for a while. She was off to a party in the afternoon, her best friend at nursery. I'm going to collect her again this afternoon and she'll spend the night here. Her Mummy and Daddy can get some stuff sorted out and get off to work tomorrow - good job I only work term time!
Your sign sounds great Ruby.
Pleased to hear you're settled in your new home NRA.
Gers - I had to clean the inside of my windscreen too, the sun is so low now it shows all the smears.
That was a long day for you TA.
Happy new TV Izzy.
I had a great swim this morning, there was someone there I used to see at another pool so we had a good catch up. Have a peaceful Sunday, take care. XX7
