You should get a letter around 3 months before the pension can be claimed. It will give you a code to apply online. I got the letter on a Wednesday, claimed the same day and got a letter detailing payment amounts and dates on the Saturday. You can have the pension paid direcxtly to a bank account.

Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1

As above. If you want to defer you just do nothing. The on line claim will ask for bank details etc and the default option is 4 weekly. If you want to be paid weekly you need to call them.

Hi,Your payment date is linked to your National Insurance Number.
The table below shows the allocated paydays.
Your state pension becomes payable on the first allocated payday following your SPA.
Last 2 numbers of NI number Payday
00 to 19 Monday
20 to 39 Tuesday
40 to 59 Wednesday
60 to 79 Thursday
80 to 99 Friday
So, if your NI number ends with 56, your state pension will begin on the first Wednesday after your SPA.

Payment
Most people have their State Pension paid directly into an account.
When you apply for your State Pension, you are given information about the different types of bank or building society accounts you can use. Your amount is usually paid four-weekly in arrears, although you can ask to be paid weekly or fortnightly.
