Hello
Creeping towards exchange ever so slowely but just curious. When or if halifax do a final check after exchange, will this be a full mortgage application, which includes income and expenditure and salaries and personal details etc or is it literally just them using one of the credit ref agencies and running a credit check ?
I have been checking my checkmyfile daily since we began the process and from mortgage offer stage to now my score has not changed or had anything different at all on it just continous on time payments. There is no new credit or use of available credit at all.
Any help me appreciated
Thanks

There’s no definitive answer, they may or may not check your credit reports after a certain time period has passed or before funds release. It all depends on their internal credit scoring of your application and their policies.
You’ll be ok as long as you have taken no additional credit since the application was submitted and you pay back all credit commitments you said you would at application submission.
They could potentially ask for a recent payslip etc if it’s been a while since you received the offer.0 -
Would it be specified in the conditions part of my offer?0

halifax used to check at every event, but my last one with them only application.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Yes. They only appear so far to of credit checked me once and that's at full application stage. Since then, and I have checked daily, they have not run another. I don't mind them running a credit check ad my score and stuff on there are as they were when they did the full mortgage application and I have 0 balance on everything but I am creeping towards exchange and I am just freaking out a bit as I don't want anything to go wrong
I think I'm peeving my solicitor off with all my questions but as I'm paying for a service I'm gonna keep on pressing as I want them to be as responsive to stuff as I am
How recently have you gone through this with Halifax to know they don't check?0 -

How recently have you gone through this with Halifax to know they don't check?I'm not an expert, but I don't think they can run a credit check whenever they want, it must be authorized by you, unless it's part of the house purchase that it's taking time and they run it again, but they can't just fire one randomly without a good reason.Checking your file every day seems crazy to me, in any case, the biggest companies update their data once a month, Credit Karma seems once a week but it all depends from who has searched you in the first place.0 -
