As long as they are taking your top line gross salary then it doesn't sound unreasonable for them to consider the lease commitment.
What the £1,050 becomes net in your salary isn't the full picture though because you will be paying a BIK for having a company car, obviously depending on what the car is the BIK could make the net position higher than the £1,050 gross deduction.
It is probably a simplistic way of looking at it but they consider it fit for purpose0
