Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It seems to be mild again here, not that I'm complaining.Yesterday was an ok day, and we were out last night at the quiz. I did a bit of sewing, took up a pair of trousers and started altering a skirt, I might get a bit more of that done today. It's hairdo morning, badly needed in my case, then I'm meeting a friend this afternoon.Hope everyone has a good day today, thinking of anyone who is not well or sad for any reason.Take care folks.11

Morning All
It's dry! I've just been out to the bin and although a lot colder the sky is fairly clear for now. The forecast shows some sunshine but I'm not holding my breath! I'm tempted to put the towel wash out but it may be a step too far. I will open the cellar doors to get some air in there - the water level has dropped again but we had more rain last night.
I woke up with a stiff neck yesterday and it keeps taking me by surprise, quite sore into my shoulder but easing up today - I really feel like I'm falling apart!
It's DS1's 36th birthday today which makes me feel very old.
Well done on the walking Ruby.
Great news about your DH Scarlet - what a relief.
Right, off to the shower, hope you all have a good day, take care. XX9 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. I was woken up by wind and rain this morning although it still feels very mild. According to the forecast though, all that is set to change with the temps due to plummet. Oh well the Indian summer was a bonus whilst it lasted.
I am feeling much tidier this morning after my much needed haircut. I couldn't believe the amount I had to sweep up afterwards.
I had a lovely catch up with DF yesterday and we hope it can get back to it being a weekly meet up again. She has had lots of problems this last year. Sunday put the tin lid on it when 4 youths in a stolen car rounded the corner at around 100 mph, crashed into their parked car which ended up a write off wedged in their front wall. That didn't help her DH's mental health problems.
The 2 youngest DGDs were waiting for the same bus back up home as I was and ended up inviting themselves for tea again! It's a good job I keep a full freezer. They had to go back down home straight away afterwards as eldest had dance lessons but it was nice to see them even if it was a flying visit.
Housebound today but in this weather I don't mind! Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for poorlies or worried. Hope all goes well today SNOOZER. RUBY I kept wondering if Rob had turned up. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning all
Its a bit dull and overcast here this morning but the sun is due out later the promised rain is now coming tomorrow.
TA Rob did turn up which surprised me ! I has asked her to make him a packed lunch and he turned up with a cheese spread sandwich and a tiny packet of party rings 🙄 I added a piece of fruit and some crisps to it, his mum was also moaning about the price of the taxi and was not at all happy when I said about my mileage but never mind that it’s costing me a small fortune !
So today I am going to collect him and take him to his work and will see if she says anything. I need to get a few bits of shopping on the way home, dinner tonight will be pizza and salad so a nice quick meal.
Scarlett great news about your DH xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Hi everyone & thanks for the start nmlc.Good to hear DHs tests came back ok Scarlet.I missed posting yesterday, I went on a bus trip & had longer to mooch as DH dropped me at the direct route bus stop instead of me going to town and then catching another. I paid £2, couldn't use my pass as it wasn't 9.30 but it was worth it. As we got nearer to the next town some people were trying to use the passes and the driver said the machine wouldn't accept them yet. One irate lady said 'well what's all that lot doing on then?' They've paid, replied the driver, causing a few smiles amongst us. She stomped off to wait for the next one.I got a book about football for DGS ( what else
) - bit like Guinness book of records, ready for his birthday next month and a few other bits, and 2 nighties off the market. I got the bus back and got off at the butchers to collect the meat pack I ordered, put it in my trolley and walked back home.
Hairdresser rang, he's still not well so today's cut is postponed again, hopefully next week!Glad you got yours done TA, and nice surprise to have DGDs visiting. Ours has just rung DS2 for a lift to school as it was raining hard & it's about a 30min walk from her mums.Shopping just delivered- my word there doesn't look much there for the money! Spicy chicken on flatbreads has been requested for tea.Izzy it was nice to hear about your chatty bus trip, sounds like you cheered the lady upCamelot glad the water level is dropping.Take care all x

Morning all. I didn't say but I'm sure I saw the bloke form the sewing bee on SUnday too in the cafe area, Matthew, the one with the harnesses. So anyway, it's gusty and cold looking outside, which is all good, I'm not planning on going out much until later on. Stew is made for supper and I roasted three trays of tomatoes from the garden yesterday with some garlic , I have to whizz them up today and freeze them in packets. I'm supposed to be meeting friends later for coffee and I do want to get some more wool, different colours. and I have to make a cowl type thing for one of OHs friends, it's her 50th in November so I'm thinking ahead for a change. Found something for my sister for her birthday to and sent a card so hopefully they'll all arrive tomorrow. I'm not feeling very worky today but I still do have to organise some blinds for the windows.snoozer, hope all goes well today. Izzy, when I used to get my hair coloured, there was a lady who went in every year before Christmas and had her hair coloured dark green, red and purple, just for Christmas and she was about 85...so you might as well
Ruby, poor Rob, por you, hope someone can persuade her of the inadequacy of cheese spread sandwiches before long. Scarlet, well done for doing the sewing, I must get my behind into gear there too. camelot, yep, there's a club for that, and I think most of us are in it here
TA, how very annoying for your friend. Youth is so very wasted on some of the young for sure..I'm off for some breakfast, my stomach is rumbling, shame it can't eat some of the flab surrounding it
Take care all, enjoy your day, sympathy to the poorly...

After the horrors of Saturday and Sunday we now have a lovely day. Clearing up is taking place though we are still cut off completely from the road to Oban and have a long diversion to Glasgow, teams of workies are doing a huge amount of work to clear everything.Camelot - is the pump making a big difference?TA - how lovely to meet up with your DF again.Ruby - at least Rob turned up, he's safe in your company.Rosy - your bus experience made me smile!Izzy -Snoozer - you're probably still fast asleep after your op or still waiting for it. I hope that all goes well.I've been out for fresh veggie, took food waste (veggie peelings) to the tip as they begin to smell, posted a birthday card and got cash from the bank. I've also booked an overnight stay in Glasgow for the end of the month when I have a theatre date - Dawn French (and I can't post the rest of the title). The cold sun is shining and I have my front door open to get some air through it.12

Good evening
popping in whilst I have a bit of spare time.
I managed to get a promotion at work, now need to ensure that I don’t pay any more tax than I need to.DS2 had another op on Monday but they have said it has not worked so he has to go for another 1 tomorrow. I have requested a carers assessment as I can’t seem to do everything and I’m tired and tearful - I work full time and go everything else and just want a break as ds2 was f so upset and angry that I bore the brunt of it and I realised we have been living like this for 10 months, still waiting a date for his Pip tribunal - I’ve spent hours on the phone today.
Hope snoozers op has gone well today.Gers I have seen the pictures of the landslides hope you are staying safe.
I should have hone to our local theatre tonight but couldn’t leave ds2 as he is in so much pain. Never mind there is always another time.
Coxy hope your dd finds something soon - awful how she was treated by the school.
sorry my mind has gone blank. Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care9 -
Evening!
I’ve been at an all day offsite today - it went well but boy I’m tired. BFF and her DH are due here around 10 this evening as we are off to Majorca for a cheeky long weekend. Timing a bit rubbish as DDad in hospital again as had a tumour removed from his bladder. His BP is on the floor, so is having plasma and blood intravenously. Not that I can help from the UK or Majorca, but still!
Congrats on the promotion @topsyturphy - hope you can get the carers allowance sorted along with your DS’s PIP claim xHope @snoozer is doing okay xCross-stitch WIP: HSC Jingle Bells Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 05/25 Currently reading The last letter from your lover by Jojo Moyes8
