Prioritising building work in my flat

My flat is in need of a big dose of TLC!!

I'm in a 1 bed flat, with a small kitchen, lounge, bathroom & 1 bedroom which has a king size bed.

Every room needs work doing, so just working on which room to start renovations in.

The kitchen needs most work, likely a full refurb: new cupboards, new paintwork, new floor tiling. White goods are OK.  Format can't really change due 2 all size.

Lounge either needs carpet deep cleaning or replacing & refresh to paintwork.

Same for bedroom.

The bathroom needs a new bath & toilet & probably new floor tiles.

And replacement roller blinds.

What would you do first? Budget is tight so jobs aren't urgent.

I think the kitchen 1st as that needsost attention.

Some photos would help, the kitchen for example could look very different if you replaced/painted the cupboard doors - which if the carcasses are in good shape could work well.

And, I'd hire a carpet cleaner to give those a deep clean, and then repaint the lounge & other rooms.

    What is the ultimate aim?
Is the flat really in a poor state with stains, peeling paint, gouged worktops etc or just you'd like to modernise it?

I would start also with a deep clean and paint job. Get the furnishing you want and in place. You may change your thoughts on what you want.

I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

  • Start with the 'messy' jobs first, so kitchen and bathroom. No point deep cleaning carpets and redecorating if they may get ruined if you end up needing full kitchen re-furb. Just try to make your bedroom cosy so you have a place to relax and chill put during the work!

I would start with the bathroom somewhere to get cleaned up and feel fresh after doing other work

Bedroom next a nice room to go to bed to after a hard day

Lounge painting but not carpet until the last job the kitchen is replaced

For me the last jobs would be carpets either cleaned if that is even possible or replaced

The kitchen is where you wash out paint brushes and rollers so that would definitely wait till everything else is done, that probably wouldn't suit a woman
