My wonderful old panasonic breadmaker has finally died…what do I buy now?

Our dear old Panny died about a year ago after 15 years hard service; the belt was slipping & the results decidedly unreliable. I've tried changing the belt on a bread maker before & it all went horribly wrong (that one, my niece's, turned out to be rusty inside) so was considering whether to buy a new one or go over to fully handmade - the DDs make bread by hand fairly often - when another Panny popped up on our local Freegle group! Probably not much "younger" than our old one but considerably less battered. The poor previous owner had just been diagnosed diabetic & banned from carbs. That's still doing sterling service & may be my only hope for "breaking OH's love of cheap supermarket bread; he does like the overnight loaves. Though he'll always struggle with cutting it... but he just won't eat the sourdough that we really love, because it hurts his teeth.
So - worth a look at Freegle, FB marketplace, EBay, etc, OP, if you'd like another - you may not need to buy a new one.Angie - GC Mar 25: £253.47/£500: 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 21/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)1 -

I had a Princess, but it never made bread I liked. As if it didn't bake long enough, and no possibility to change the timings.
