paul991 said:but if you charge your battery cheaply to self consume your saving your self 21 pence kw ie between economy 7 and peak time but the main use of portable power packs is to be able to keep power on if essentialWith the current Ofgem SVT at about 27p/kWh, to save 21p/kWh on E7 you'd need an off-peak rate of about 6p/kWh.There might be regions and suppliers where that's possible, but I'm not immediately aware of one.N. I have two "solar generators" Stupid name really as they don't generate anything, they are as you mention just storage batteries with built in inverters. HOWEVER. Best darn things ever for me. I have two, an Allpowers 700W 606Wh and an Awanfi A31 518Wh. Firstly forget the Wh numbers if you are using them to output AC as with the losses in the inverters you can knock of an easy 20%. With DC output both deliver near on exactly and sometimes a bit more than the rated. figures. Now I use them in the garden when trimming the hedge, leaf blowers etc (beats running an extension from the house) and when going out for the day e.g. to the beach. I charge them up using a 200W foldable panel.15 x JASolar 405w Panels installed 25/11/22, 5 SE, 5S, 5SW
