You need to encourage sale of your debt, non payment usually has that effect, debt purchasing companies buy debts in bulk for a fraction of their face value, so once they have had your account on their books for a while, they will be wanting to offload it, they do this by encouraging you to accept a settlement offer, if at all possible, as they like to turnover their loan books periodically, and bring in fresh accounts.
Offers differ dependant on age of the debt and company policy, even the time of year, end of the tax year always a good time, it`s all about negotiation, you can cut a large chunk of time off your DMP by doing this.

Sending a request under section 77/79 consumer credit act, is normally something you would do only once, but it`s always a good way to determine your position, especially with older accounts that may have been sold on more than once.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
