How to view old NUVOS civil service pension ABS in the pensions portal?

I've contacted CSP multiple times over several months about this issue but I can't get an answer from them so thought I'd try here.

I was moved from a NUVOS pension to an ALPHA pension scheme in 2015. I have some old paper copies of ABS statements, but I'd like to view these online in the civil service pension portal.

As an extra complication, I left and then rejoined the civil service several years ago, and rejoined the ALPHA scheme. I can view my ABS for ALPHA on the pension portal, but it only shows contributions since I rejoined (despite the info stating that I've been a member since 2015). In summary:

1. I can view my latest ABS for my ALPHA pension, but this only includes contributions since re-joining.
2. I can't view my NUVOS pension (there is no record of it online).

It is just not possible to view the NUVOS pension online? I get radio silence when I contact the CSP email address after providing them with my full details. Is it possible to view my old NUVOS pension and old ALPHA pension on the pensions portal? And can I link my old ALPHA pension to my new one?

UPDATE 2: I've realised that I should be able to view my old pensions, I have not deferred them. I should be able to view a combined ABS for all my pensions.

UPDATE 1: I've now found my old pension info in the online portal, it's slightly hidden away but is showing as deffered. For anyone else who is struggling:

    1. Click on the tab 'More' at the top right left to the logout button
    2. Click on 'deferred benefits page'

A pity that the Administrator could not point you in the right direction when you raised the query.

I do have a follow up question, if anyone views this thread.

I can view my preserved annual pension for my deferred pensions, but this doesn't include any annual increases with inflation (the figures are the same they were in 2017). Is it possible to receive an ABS for my deferred pensions that show what they are worth now with increases in inflation?

    Hi Dan

I'm in the same position as you. I have a deferred Classic pension and rejoined the civil service and now have a live Alpha pension. I can see my deffered pension at the value it was when I left on the portal. Thanks to you telling me that, didn't find that before! You are entitled to a paper copy of your updated deferred pension ABS each year but you have to email them to request it. I do it every year and usually get it after a month or so. I have asked several times why they can't just update the portal yearly with deferred pension details but falls on uninterested ears. I have a deferred LGPS pension that can do it so can't see why MyCSP can't!

It would make far too much sense for MyCSP to update every year the ABS for deferred members online. This would be a very simple thing to do just like they do for all active civil service members. Anyone can see it would save them time with dealing with the requests from deferred members for their yearly ABS.
Doing it in late August or September would avoid the busy time for their computers when updating active members ABSs.

Are there any calculators on the site? Some portals provide them, where you put in the date & value at the point of deferral, and the calculator will make a calculation for the effects of inflation uprating. Not necessarily accurate, but I believe a reasonable approximation.

There are no specific calculators that I have found. Probably best to do this in a spreadsheet for those who understand the process of uplifting but that's not the point. Our LGPS pension provider calculates the annual updates automatically for all members online - active and deferred in April. MyCSP don't do anything online for deferred members apart from showing what the pension value was when one leaves the Civil Service. They then say they need 2 or 3 months to provide an ABS. Madness. A lot of deferred pensions are many years old and calculating the present value using CPI and accrued values is not intuitive to some.
Also as someone mentioned above MyCSP have put the deferred pension details in a menu system called "more" on the civil service pension portal. The portal focusses on active members. It is quite poor from them.
