SWR Touch Card--singles/returns (and train operator ITSO cards generally)

Options
Is it possible to add plain singles / returns (bought online) to SWR Touch card (not Tap&Go), for fare gate convenience (including not getting mobile out of my pocket for a QR code ticket scan)

Especially with Network card or operator railcard discount?

The SWR website isn't very clear on this.

Also, is it possible to put singles/returns bought online with another operator's card, to use on their network as well as SWR (not connecting trains).

The operators I use the most for ad hoc travel (metro & longer distance) are SWR (usually with a Network card), and Greater Anglia (usually with their Club50 card, sometimes with Network card, sometimes to/from Liverpool Street, sometimes from Stratford arriving by overground so not going through main fare gates)

(Personally I think it would be helpful to have the cards more joined up, and maybe enable "railcards" to also be ITSO standard cards, and allow tickets to be loaded onto plastic cards)

I did eventually get an answer from SWR--yes it is possible to load a ad hoc single/return ticket online to their smart card, via their website, to avoid printing from home/getting the barcode online/or picking up from a station.

I note the following point:  if you do print from home/barcode online/station pickup, it is possible to use return tickets "out of sequence", i.e. accidentally use a return before an outbound (which is contrary to ticket rules!).  Not easy, but possible, and some might try it on to get a cheaper fare as trips between two points fares sometimes price differently depending on direction of travel and time of start of journey, e.g. "evening out off peak".   It would be impossible to use tickets out of sequence with a smart card ticket.
