Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
It looks quite promising out this morning, I'll put a white washing on once I've got back from swimming and get it out on the line. Glad I didn't do it yesterday as there were showers all day.
Went with DD and the little one to the big blue and yellow shed for picture frames - actually remembered to take them with me for sizing and got all I needed. Also called at a large out of town shopping centre (somewhere I really hate) and got some jewellery to go with my outfit for the wedding - which is now this month! All I need is some undies but that can wait until another day.
I got all the sweetcorn chopped down from neighbour's garden, the wind had blown it over. I'll share it out as there's no room in my freezer. There were also some courgettes hiding - will they every stop?!
Nothing much planned for today, will have a nice relaxing day to myself.
Hope everyone is well or getting better and you have a peaceful Sunday. Take care. XX9 -
Morning folks. Thanks for starting us off Scarlet.
My visit to friends yesterday was lovely, only an hour but a good hour. I picked up some pecan and white chocolate blondies on the way up which were very tasty. The husband was preoccupied by waiting for a chap to help him bring his boat into the winter housing. This involved him first getting the boat onto a trolley whilst still in the loch, wheeling it onto the shore then being hitched to what I think is a small dumper truck and dragged up their steep driveway. I didn't stay for the main event.Today I will do some food shopping as I have something on every day this week. The day looks to fine, a little band of high pressure is giving a window of dry weather.DP1 - yes, I've been watching Geordie Hospital, how things have changed since the days of Newcastle General Hospital, now razed. I was only in the RVI once, much better nursing care than the NGH. I haven't seen the Duchess programme.TA - hugs to you. I hope that all our poorlies are doing well. Happy Sunday to all.8 -
Morning everyone fantastic night last night at voices of virtue gospel choir wow what voices and such a happy uplifting atmosphere you can’t help but come away feeling great it was at Sunderland not a million miles from me a place called the fire station apparently it once was it was a great place just the right size for a concert it’s very rare I go out but I was shocked at how quiet the streets were for a Saturday night never seen another soul going in or coming out when I used to go out many moons ago Saturday night the streets were packed . Nothing much happening today I have got some jeans on the line I need to do a bit of shopping just milk and veg and I need to watch strictly I recorded it last night . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Morning folks. A bit of a dull start for us but at least it's fine.
Ive just done another test and finally, after 10 days, it's negative! I still feel weak and weary though so normal service may be a while resuming. I am forcing myself to make a proper dinner for myself today as I have been living off snacks and picky bits when I felt up to eating. It's a while since I have felt this poorly and sorry for myself!
I need to rebook appointments cancelled over the last week or so. Most pressing is the hairdresser who was due to visit. My mop was already overdue for cutting so I hope I don't have to wait too long for her to sort me out.
I thoroughly enjoyed Strictly last night so it may get a rewatch this afternoon. There are so many excellent dancers, even at this early stage, it's hard to pick a possible winner.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and MIA. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8 -
Morning all
Dry here and meant to be sunny later, I have one wash ready to go out and another just finishing I will put them both out together.I have just put a massive bit of brisket in the sc, mum bought it the other day if it doesn’t shrink too much it should do us all a dinner today and tomorrow, I will definitely plate one up for mum tomorrow as then at least I know she has had a good dinner.
In the spring I ordered 80 crocus bulbs which eventually arrived yesterday so that’s my main job for today I am going to put them all over the front lawn so hopefully in the spring I should have a lovely deep purple covering they should go well with my snowdrops and primroses.
Veg to prep for dinner with roasties and some Yorkshire puddings my sister gave me some carrots from her garden so we will have those today with come cabbage and there is a few sprouts to use up as well.
TA I’m glad you are finally clear let’s hope you start to feel better soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx8 -

Good morning again, I've just remembered that I hadn't "come back"!
It's fine here, I'm going to put some washing out before it gets any later.
Glad you're now testing negative T A, you've been through the mill.
Gers, the programme about the new installation at Alnwick Garden is worth watching, and I like the Geordie Hospital programme as well.
You'll be all bulbed out by teatime Ruby, happy planting.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.8 -
I dashed off to Mr T for some eggs as they opened. I'm down to the last chicken here now, and she's not laying. I've decided we aren't keeping them again, it's too expensive and hard work for me. Having to keep them undercover the last two winters because of the bird flu was a real challenge for us (we are quite exposed) and horrible for them. I signed up for that British Gas cheap electricity sundays thing, so I wanted to make a cake (probably the lovely sweet potato one I made last time again, it was sooo good) When I got in I put the t-towels I washed yesterday in the drier (cheap electric again) That's the line in the sand for me drying wise, I can't bear them crispy and having to karate chop them to get them to fit in the basket.
Had a look at the reduced stuff in our small Tesco :O They really aren't marking stuff down much these days! I'm doing the vast majority of my shopping online now and in times past my freezer would have been full of YS stuff, I worry I am missing out by doing that, but I think I'm probably just quids in missing the impulse buys.
Did pick up a whole chicken for dinner, they were on offer, went through the display for the heaviest one (of course) as I didn't defrost anything last night, and I quite fancy making some soup this week with the carcass. I have some lovely gluten free Stellini (tiny stars pasta) and it takes me back to my childhood and my Nan's Italian friend, who made the best soup ever with her eternally boiling stock pot.
Going finish hemming some curtains for my living room that my Mum was chucking out, they were as suitable as anything else would be, and free. Just a bit too long. Feels a bit miserable as it starts getting dark early now so will make it cosy. We had some work done on the house in the spring, and the existing ones didn't get put back, they were very very faded. Have enjoyed seeing the garden over the summer though.9 -
Gosh; afternoon already!
It's been a busy 24hrs. Just 1 hour after I posted here yesterday DD phoned to say her waters had broken and she was awaiting the midwife. She wanted to go ahead with the birthday meal so we moved it to her house and I phoned her brother to drive there instead. She was a bit uncomfortable but we got through the main course and then opted to open D Son in Law's birthday gifts before things moved on a bit. We all left them to it at 2.30pm and we took DGS home with us to stay overnight. His baby brother was born at 6.30pm last night, with no problems, and we've just been back to see them this morning.
DGS appeared in our bedroom at 5.30am so I might need a nap later on10
