Argos eGift card

Hi all.
I bought an Argos egift card through my employee benefit scheme.
I had to return the item i bought with it and Argos have refunded the value back on to the egift card.
I have spoken to my work scheme and they wont refund my money back in to my bank account so now I am stuck with an egift card that i don't need....£300's worth !
I know i can sell it online but i will lose around £30.
I've also asked friends/family that if they are buying anything from Argos to use my card and give me the money.
But, is there anyway I can use the card and get the full value back?...I don't need anything from Argos by the way.

Thanks for your help.

The T&C probably say no refunds. Have a look at them
  • I know it says that but that's not what i'm asking.
I'm just asking is there a way to spend/exchange the card on items/places other than Argos to get as much of the balance back as possible.
I wont be using the works scheme again.

As you have already mentioned in your first post you can sell them for around 90% of face value, though there are risks with selling vouchers online. Argos vouchers are only accepted in Argos. Alternatively you use it to buy things yourself that you need over a period of time, although Argos can often be more expensive than buying elsewhere. How much did you actually pay for the £300 voucher, most work schemes offer a 3-10% discount in the first place, so even if you sell for for 10% less, you might loose less than that.

Did you not get the replacement from Argos as well, or did you go off and buy another one elsewhere?

That would appear to be shooting yourself in the foot. Where you need to buy something and can get the vouchers at a discount through the work scheme then they make sense and can save you money.

Little you can do unfortunately. You can't even use it for buying anything from Sainsburys who own Argos.
  • Were you trying to arbitrage the scheme here, intending all along to return the goods for a refund?

There is no way to use the card and get the full value back as cash.
You’ve already asked family & friends so your only option is sell it on local buy & sell groups at a slight loss or sell online also at a slight loss.
A bird in the hand and all that. You either have no money or £300 - 10% in your bank.

Then you’re probably best off doing much if your Christmas shopping at Argos this year.
