Is this legit? ERC overpayment 5yrs on
seriouslyunsurprising
I've received a letter addressed to me today about an alleged overpayment made in relation to the ERC we paid when we moved house. This was back in December 2018 and relates to a joint mortgage but the letter is only addressed to me.
Is this legit or a scam? We no longed have any first direct current accounts so if legit I need to speak to them but if feels very odd...

Looks fair enough to me, if you want to be sure ring them and ask from a number off their website (not the one on the letter).
Has the money gone in your account as the letter states?0 -
What would any scam be?
Don't their FAQs help you?0 -
Our first direct account is closed so no money in my account as yet, I'm wary of calling to question this given the high prevalence of scams. Maybe I'm being overly cautious it just seems very odd0

Why, what do you think is going to happen during that phone call?seriouslyunsurprising said:

If your concern is that you’ll have to provide them with alternative bank account details ask them to send you a cheque.
You should then be able to pay this in at the post office but you can check what banking facilities are available at https://www.postoffice.co.uk/everydaybanking.0
