Contract help

Please help.
I interviewed for a job with a 5/2 pattern which was confirmed to be MON-FRI. This is stated in the contract without the flexibility working clause.
My first day I was told I had the weekend off along with Mon/Tues as my working pattern is Weds-SUN (never having weekends off) I brought up with management what my contracted stated. They advised I was wrong and was told it’s 5/2.

Last night I decided to write a formal email as I have no life right now and having to pay for double child care at weekends. My life has turned upside down. I haven’t seen my husband and I’m genuinely becoming depressed. After the email, I received a response this eve CONFIRMING that I was right, the contract was wrong. “Administrative error” they thanked me and said I’ll sign the new contract tomorrow…..
Really? I signed the contract I interviewed for.

Well let's take a complete random guess on this shall we, it's totally contextual but I think I can have a goBrassicWoman said:I'm not sure what your question is.
'given the above described scenario, what are my options because I don't want to do the shift that's been forced on me'
I don't think the answer is a right lot, if they won't flex but I think you've been treat quite poorly.
I'd second ACAS for a second opinion, they're generally useless but you won't need to spell it out.

I couldn't see that because they said the original contract was correct? "After the email, I received a response this eve CONFIRMING that I was right"Dakta said:

Sounds like they are very confused. Wait and see what tomorrow brings - and make sure you have access to their reply confirming you were right (print it out if necessary and take it with you).Helpme88xxxx said:After the email, I received a response this eve CONFIRMING that I was right, the contract was wrong. “Administrative error” they thanked me and said I’ll sign the new contract tomorrow…..

Hi,
I think that means you'll be signing the new Wed/Sun contract.Helpme88xxxx said:After the email, I received a response this eve CONFIRMING that I was right, the contract was wrong. “Administrative error” they thanked me and said I’ll sign the new contract tomorrow…..0 -
What exactly does the wording say? 5/2, to me at least, means you work 5 days then get 2 days off, it doesn't say if that's mon-fri or Wed-Sun etcHelpme88xxxx said:Please help.I interviewed for a job with a 5/2 pattern which was confirmed to be MON-FRI. Is pretty much the bottom line. If you don't agree and can't negotiate a compromise they can dismiss you just by giving or paying you for whatever notice the contract you have signed provides.0 -
