A second language would potentially open up work as a translater / interpreter, but a lot would depend on what that language was ....1 -
In the absence of any other information, I would say a language skill is more likely to open up work / employment opportunities than origami.
This question needs to be answered in the light of the OP's skills, competencies, experience and interests, though.1 -
Learning a language has many advantages other than in business as translator/interpreter which will require a pretty deep knowledge. Origami has little practical use other than making craft items, which may or may not be saleableIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1

To be fair, I know someone who used to work as a play coordinator at the local children's hospital with a lot of Origami going on, and they're now selling beautiful folded items, running workshops etc.
As a skill for employment, I think a language is more likely to be listed as desirable; Origami not so much. However in business, a very good command of another language is often needed, rather than basic beginners, so starting from scratch won't be a quick fix.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Languages open up many more doors with both employee and self employer/freelance opportunities out there. Clearly it's not all translation work, multinational companies want multi-lingual staff to support ranges of regions either with customers or internal matters like IT Helpdesk.
Origami is slightly more limited to either making and selling a product or running workshops. You'll almost certainly be self employed and getting established is likely to be hard work. There was for a while more industrial use of origami skills but there are now software programmes that can calculate how to fold something into a certain shape or such0
