Last night we had a glorious sunset so I'm expecting a lovely day despite the cold start. My shopping trip was again short and sweet, I was so relieved to see somethings in my fridge. I did a quick wash of things which only needed refreshed, I'm hoping to do a white load and get it out on the line this morning. 🤞🤞I hope that everyone is doing well. Happy Strictly Saturday to all.10

Good morning, thanks for starting Gers.
It's not a bad morning here, I'm hoping to get some washing out.
I haven't posted for a few days, was feeling a bit fed up and had nothing positive to say so just kept quiet!
Anyway, hope everyone is ok, and has a good day. I'll read back to see what everyone has been up to.
Take care folks.10 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. A pleasant start for us but it feels chilly. It's going to be a long long winter.
I woke up yesterday with a sore throat and a bit of a peffing cough and got worse as the day wore on. I felt all shivery despite being under my heated throw most of the day. I think I feel marginally better this morning so goodness knows what that was all about. I did intend to pop down town but I am not pushing my luck and will stay put.
I hope I don't go backwards again as I have the 2 younger DGDs for tea and sleepover. A rare event these days having them here to sleep as they are now old enough to look after themselves if DD is going anywhere. One guess what was requested for tea, they are having withdrawal symptoms! They like watching Strictly too so shouldn't upset my evening's viewing! I shall record it anyway just in case.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all be safe xx

Morning allBlue sky and sun at the moment and according to the weather forecast it should stay that way for most of the day. Still feels chilly though.Had my flu jab yesterday and was also offered my COVID jab too, so 2 sore arms. Rather that than the alternative though!Adamant I won't put the heating on until October so fluffy dressing gown is the order of the day once I sit down this afternoon and read my book. But first it's bed changing day today, then make the beginnings of a shepherds pie for tomorrow and then I fancy some lemon cupcakes.Have a good day everyone x10

Morning Everyone and thank you for starting us off Gers
The sun is out, but it's chilly. I did test my central heating the other day to make sure it was ok for the winter months (it had been serviced, but I still always check).
A friend is coming for coffee & chat today, otherwise nothing planned, although I might go for a walk.
Sorry to hear you have a cough TA - get well soon.
Hope you all have a good weekend. x9 -
Morning all. Bright and sunny here again but the cars outside are damp so its been chilly overnight.
The flipping dishwasher still isn't working. We ran it yesterday and it isn't heating up so have contacted the engineer but he isn't available until at least Friday. Back to meals with not much washing up then.
I have a bit of ironing to do before watching the rugby but might get DH to take me out in his new car to get a few bits from the shops. Other than that, a quiet day is planned.
Keep well folks. TA; I hope you feel better as the day goes on.8 -

Off to the match later but we'll miss my DB 2 and family,my DNiece is off to start student life today in her aim to be a teacher. I think we are going to treat ourselves to a take away curry tonight, not had one for ages.Scarlet, hope you feel brighter soon,TA enjoy your evening with the DGDs. I do miss the days when the DGC stayed here before DS moved into his own house- hectic & hard work at the time
Hope the cough and shivers stay away.
Right better get ready to cheer on the boys, think I'll put socks and boots on today, bit nippy. Take care all x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)8 -
Morning all
Dry and bright here and no rain due for a change ! It’s been chilly in the evenings though it won’t be long till we light the log burner in the evenings which makes everything cosy.
The carpet was laid yesterday it looks and feels so lovely, it’s the only bit of carpet in the whole house so it’s a bit of a novelty for us 😃 the carpet man arrived at 9.30 and said he would be finished by 4, at 4.15 another man turned up and they were both here till 6.15 so a long day for them but it’s so worth it for us.
Dinner tonight will be burger in a bun with chips OH will cook as he likes cooking burgers and it’s a night off cooking for me 😃 dogs will be walked later and some housework to do.
TA I hope you feel better soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx7 -
Morning all, the sun is out but it's bloomin chilly ! The predicted showers didn't arrive and we had sunshine all day yesterday so the towels dried plus I washed the awning curtains, which dried in no time as they're so thin.
This morning I have done a wash and hung it out and also stripped the bed, so the bedding is now dancing in the wm. It will also go out and hopefully the predicted clouds will stay away for a while.
I need to re-make the bed and I think it's time to put a thicker duvet on as I was cold during the night. I have an online shop coming this morning with 2 oos, frozen green beans and bread. I can do without the beans and also I can make a loaf, but it gets eaten too quickly, especially when it's still warm, yum 😋
Hugs to TA for the cough, hope it goes quickly.
Scarlet, I hope you feel more you very soon.
Coxy I meant to say I hope DD gets the answers she wants for her exams (at least I think it was you, apologies if not)
Hope everyone has a good day, enjoy Strictly if you watch, I seem to be the only person that doesn't !
Take care all
