Final shop of the month done this morning and ending on £163.34/£200 - £36.66 left which has been moved between a couple of pots. The odd £6.66 to round up a couple of pots and the £30 to one of the holiday pots.5

We've had 3 spends between Oct. 19th and today. Overall, I'm finishing out the month
£320.22/ £320 spent. 22p over our limit.
Good enough! I've actually got a big Tesco order coming tonight, but I'll count that towards November's budget.5 -
I decided to do a last minute top up today so that I wouldn't have to shop in November for a few days so I bought extra virgin olive oil and sunflower oil in Sainsby's for £12.90, 4x milk, garlic, passion fruit and cucumber in M*rks for £5.70 and tahini, kidney beans, pitta bread and YS salad leaves in Mr Ts for £5.04.
So I'm declaring at £142.48/£170 for the main Grocery Challenge, £10.27/£20 for the Baking Fund and £11.60/£77.60 for the Bulk Buy Fund.
I am so pleased to have come in under budget in all three pots and hope to be able to continue this winning streak.
See you all over on the November thread, goldfinches.5 -
I'm done with October and finished over budget on £716.
I'm heading over to November now, that can only be a better month. My big sister died last Thursday after a short illness and my husband was diagnosed with prostate cancer, booked in for surgery this Friday.
And I turned 60 on SundayNew Years Resolution (Jan 2023) was to take early retirement followed by a career change. Retired January 2024 - now working as a contractorAiming to be debt free and mortgage free. Currently on track for December 2030.2 -
@Verulamium_Vixen you have a hell of a month! Sending lots of ease and light your way x.2

Oh @Verulamium_Vixen, all the hugs we can send your way. But only two major disasters - turning 60 isn't that bad (from someone who just turned 76). We will keep you in our thoughts.3

Closing off October £2.98 over but this did include £26 spent on last day of month so okay with the overspend as foods purchased mainly for next month's consumption or stores.
Onwards to November...

I've officially finished the month with £8.74 to spare 🥳Debt free date 23rd march 2009 🥳Autism is my super power 🏳️🌈 🌈✨4

The last couple of spends of October to declare. Total of £43.22. This takes my total for the year to date to £1610.08/£1860. Happy with that, leaves £249.92 for the rest of the year. I have a turkey crown and pigs without blankets in the freezer, also frozen 2 Christmas cakes since January. Home made mince meat in the fridge. None of this is now needed as we are going to my sisters for 6 days over Christmas. Either eat them over new year or save till next Christmas.
Hugs to all, mumtoomany.xxxFrugal Living Challenge 2025.3 -
