TUPE holiday entitlement changes

My company was recently acquired by a bigger company and we are going through TUPE.

The purchasing company is wanting to make changes to our contracts which would reduce our annual leave allowance. Our annual leave allowance is above the national minimum. We get 28 days and they want to reduce it to 25.
The 28 days is stipulated within our existing contracts and I cannot find any amendment clause.

 Are they allowed to do this? Please can someone explain. If they are not allowed can anyone explain why? I wasn't able to find a clear answer online.

    The above is probably the best read, and there is their free helpline if you are still confused. 

    The short answer is they have multiple ways of potentially pushing it through. For example with my first real employer after they bought a competitor they technically gave the acquired employees the choice of staying on their old terms or moving to the proposed new terms. I'd say they were simply different rather than necessarily better or worse. It was however made very clear that anyone deciding to stay on the old terms would not be receiving any discretionary bonuses going forward which at manager level was up to 20% and historically had been fairly close to full bonus each year for those with on track performance.
