Gift Between Offer and Completion

Good morning all,

We currently have mortgage offer agreed with our lender for a new build property with completion estimated for early next year.

We’ve found ourselves unexpectedly needing to replace one of our cars, we don’t want to apply for any finance to prevent jeopardising the mortgage.

A family member has kindly offered to gift us the money for this vehicle but they want to transfer it to our account as they won’t be travelling to whoever we purchase a vehicle from.

Would this extra money in/out of our accounts impact the lenders offer?

It won't impact the mortgage offer, but you might want to check with your solicitor that they're not going to raise alarm bells about it when they check the source of your funds and see a chunky deposit coming into your account from a third party
