No its not, my email states 16.5p lowest rate for import... and 27.5 p during the day so it is less expensive to top up overnight than during the day... Unless of course I have had too much beer this eveningBossBob said:
Flux import and flux export is how they are labelled in the app and on the notification. The export price during daytime off peak has gone from 18.948p to 16.185p. The import cost during the flux period overnight dropped from 17.969p to 16.311p making it more expensive to top up the battery overnight than during the day (not including inverter losses).EcoScruples said:Well I did mean current Flux prices. 8% drop from the Jul-Sept prices.
What tariff is it you're on?

You can see the E7 rates for their standard tariffs at https://octopus.energy/tariffs once you put your postcode in the box.mickyduck55 said:Anyone have the E7 rates.. finding it difficult to find them on their webpage...( I know they differ by region but trying to decide if I should move from Flux)

They publish the table on their blog before the postcode based one gets updated. https://octopus.energy/blog/energy-price-cap-oct-2023/mickyduck55 said:Anyone have the E7 rates.. finding it difficult to find them on their webpage...( I know they differ by region but trying to decide if I should move from Flux)2

Looks like Flux is still going to be better for me, the only issue I can see is my batteries are in my garage and when its very cold they may not fully charge during the 3 hour low rate period. I could add a second "boost" charge period before the high rate kicks in if I think I need it.Boffinboy24 said:

Maybe I should get around to insulating my batteries so they will fully charge in the 3 hours
E7 1p less expensive night rate, 8p more expensive day rate, its not going to work for me
Octopus compare doesn't seem to have the option to add E7, my other alternative is Cosy which ATM would still be more expensive than Flux.3.995kWP SSW facing. Commissioned 7 July 2011. 24 degree pitch (£3.36 /W).

Is it me or is Flux a lot less attractive now vs agile outgoing, esp as the days get shorter? 16p vs 15p. I guess at least it's more predictable on import0

I guess at least it's more predictable on importIf you have solar and battery, then you might want to consider Agile import and Fixed export at 15p. When rates are low you can charge the battery from the grid and export all your excess solar generation during the day. When rates are high you can charge from solar (if you have any excess). This week (being a tad windy) there have been plenty of half-hour slots where you get paid to charge the battery. The downside will be those miserably dark, cold days when the wind doesn't blow and electricity rates are very high, such as we had for a couple of weeks in December last year.If you want a predictable tariff though, Flux is fine.6.4kWp (16 * 400Wp REC Alpha) facing ESE + 5kW Huawei inverter + 10kWh Huawei battery. Agreed- if you’re out most of the day and don’t have the option to maximise lower agile rates (with nighttime washes or dishwasher or car charging), then flux is fine. It does all depend on how bad the cold spells get as to high agile gets0

The problem though is that if you have a battery you really want to be charging it up for 15/16p in the off peak pricing. Last year between November and December there was around 5 consecutive weeks where agile pricing was more than 15p. That’s a bitter situation at a time of the year where you’re going to want to use electricity.Magnitio said:Jonboy1889 said:Is it me or is Flux a lot less attractive now vs agile outgoing, esp as the days get shorter? 16p vs 15p. seriously recommend plugging your usage numbers and modelling how much it would cost between each type of tariff…0
