Sat night respite from the wrapping party anyone?

Evening debtbusters! Anyone up for a party? Am sipping my cheapie red & just stopped the wrapping (or rather my back did!) and notice NO party & I for one am in much need of some friendly chat! How you all doing with the "festivities?". This year is the first ever that I have no o/d and have got much more thoughtful pressies which include homemade turkish delight, marmalade (which is lush if I dont say so myself!) and am actually looking forward to spending time with people I love without breaking the bank!! Cheers all

heres the one I did! There are a few turkish delight recipes out there & the first one I did was a disaster & very faffy! This one is easier and less time consuming! Tesco do rosewater in the indian foodie section but I would reduce the water by 2 tablespoons & add 2 extra tblsp of rosewater as sourcing the strong stuff is hard (& took me 3 bottles to get it - I got it from kitchens in the end!) ...its v. impressive & people seem to like it but one tip is to really keep an eye on the mix while you get it to simmer point to avoid it burning - I make mine in my jam pan as its a thick pan & less likely to burn! HTH! Let me know if you have any ? - have made 3 batches now & have one more to do!! I make a double batch & then get thicker suares than they recc and it looks better IYKWIM! The single version comes out quite flat but a double recipe is nice & square & looks more like the shop bought!
