CCJ for more than what is owed
Severing
Good morning, I've just discovered I've had a CCJ taken out against me for a credit card I defaulted on in 2021. The amount owed was £1208 but the CCJ is for £1864. I wasn't aware of the CCJ due to them having an old address on record.
I was aware I owed the money and it's my own fault for not paying it but wondered if I have to pay this amount or can I somehow dispute it?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Is the additional amount for recovery charges, court costs etc?You need to see the breakdown as to what has been added on and why.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
You should apply for set aside and defend the amount claimed0
