Keep in your mind the fact that no matter what bailiff lady may say, they cannot force entry, they cannot take a vehicle which does not belong to you, and they won`t break into outbuildings.

It is imperative you keep the doors locked though, they can make peaceful entry through an unlocked door, and once in, its game over, keeping them outside is the goal here.

  • Hi,

I finally managed to speak to someone at council, a really nice guy who has been amazing, very helpful and understanding and they agreed it didn't look right, and put a hold in place to stop action whilst investigating.

Since then council has corrected mistake and have agreed to a payment plan to pay off the small amount of arrears that there actually is and they agreed to stop balliff action and said they had contacted Baliffs to stop them.

Despite this Jacobs are still harassing us demanding the original amount of over £10,000.
I have received 6 letters just today ( yes 6) threatening us and saying it's been passed to recovery and they will be coming out asap to remove are stuff.

I've contacted council and am waiting for guy I've been dealing with to get back to me. But can any one tell me are they breaking the law by harassing me for money I don't owe when council has already told them to stop, also did they break the law by  harassing us when council put a temporary hold on account. As they haven't stopped harassing us.

Should I make a formal complaint and if so how do I go about this and is there a letter template any where to give me a idea as to what to write.

    Again any advice much appreciated

    Thanks in advance

Its likely the stand down has not yet filtered through, just keep focused, no matter what the letters say, they cannot enter your property, and you must not allow them access under any circumstances.

Yes, complain like hell, I would.

Hope council guy is on this for you.
