  • My Samsung 24" bedroom telly has an ir remote but has always worked even with the remote pointed !!!!!! about face , I can only assume that the infra red is bouncing off the walls and the telly is sensitive enough to pick it up

The Samsung one has a little microphone built in, and you can ask the TV to do the complicated functions that require 500 keypresses to get to (and have it usually fail to carry them out, no matter how slowly I speak and how carefully I enunciate- rather like the "voice control" in the car "p-h-o-n-e H-O-M-E" is invariably met with "calling dentist").

I assume Samsungs spy servers don't have the power of the Amazon ones, Alexa has about a 90% success rate for me.

The old Samsung had a spy camera that permanently filmed you watching, and you could control it with "gestures" where you flailed your arms around like Tom Cruise in that film no-one remembers the title of, except I could never remember what gesture did what, like the touch gestures I never use on my phone.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

(except air quality and Medical Science ;))
