MSE Poll: Have you used a parking app before?

I’ve used apps to pay for parking but it annoys me that they have a surcharge they fail to mention. It also annoys me that there is no standardisation, I now have 7 parking apps, the last one took me 20 minutes to download and set up by which time I could have done my business and gone but didn’t want to risk a fine. The Borough I live in has a different app for street parking to that for leisure centres it owns!0

I am being excluded from going about my day-to-day business by these badly-designed and hopelessly-implemented technologies. To use the language of the designers and their fawning supporters, no doubt barely-out-of-nappies and with no lived experience, it's exclusionary and divisive, and probably ageist. A pox on them..

I have to use JustPark to park at work and the hot topic in the office this week is the automatic adding of extra charges for text and receipt by the latest update. You can opt out of them but finding the right boxes isn't logical. At least I can pay online using my office pc at JustPark.com instead of using the app because I hate the whole business of finding glasses, enabling mobile data and fiddling with tiny phone screens and fingers.0

Not a fan of the apps! I don't have a moble and I'm only 47! Hubby has about 3 of these parking apps on his mobile, two work great, but the one that the council use in Lyme Regis are useless!!! I am happy to use a card machine, I appreciate the cash ones needs someone to collect the cash, so its money saving for the council, but why get rid of the card machine? not everyone has or likes a mobile, I hate the things!0

I am using the apps more than the tolls at the moment. They seem to always require you to have coins which I rarely carry with me anymore. I find the apps very easy to use. Ringo is the one I use the most and you can always top it up without having to go all the way back to your car.0
