Agency and SSP

Hello all,
Looking for some advice.
I've been working for an agency for 4 months or so. Unfortunately a week ago I managed to rupture my achilles tendon which means I am in a cast and likely going to be in a cast/boot for the next 8-10 weeks or so... Fun! The work I have been doing for the agency is on my feet all day, panel building so lifting frequently and on my feet all day. The company I have been temping for need a replacement - which is completely understandable. They've been great and want to know when I am fit and able to work again; I'd like to return once able to.
I've informed the agency from the beginning, communicated the whole time what is happening. I asked about SSP as I have read agency workers are entitled to this. I was told as the hiring company are replacing me, they'll send me my holiday pay/P60 and 'tell me how' I can claim SSP. Is this normal procedure? Feels a lot like I am being fobbed off. Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

Do you mean holiday pay and P45? The P60 is issued at the end of each tax year.
If you're no longer employed by the agency (which would seem to be indicated by the P45), then yes, it's normal for them to tell you how to claim SSP.Signature removed for peace of mind1 -
Likely he likely did say P45!
Brilliant, many thanks. It has put my mind at ease as thought maybe they were cutting me entirely to avoid it as it says agency workers are entitled to SSP. Thanks again!0
