Looking for a job Working from Home

I have a long term health condition and working from home would be easier for me.  I've been trying to find a part time typing job working from home but am not having any luck so far.  I wondered if anyone can suggest any websites or employers that I could try?

Thanks

Google is your friend here - but only if the search term tallies with whatever is on trend. Try 'remote working' rather than WFH, then search again adding in your general geographical location (which should show up any local firms).

    Also try https://www.peopleperhour.com/

Be very wary of any data entry jobs. They require meticulous accuracy and ridiculous speed...
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!

With all jobs there will be key skills that you require and if you lack them or struggle to acquire them it can be a short lived job. Data Entry is indeed speed and accuracy. Telesales requires the ability to actually close sales. Inbound customer service requires the ability to control the call, resolve the issue within guidelines and be ready for the next call in very quick order. etc etc

Having done a decade in call centres there have been so many who thought it'd be a laugh and an easy job as you're just chatting on the phone. They get a rude awakening when they see how far off they are the target performance metrics like average handling time or wrap-up time. That's before you consider talking to an irate customer is a very different experience to chatting to your mate/relative.

Business are changing too so double check that any role is a fully remote role for life not just for now, as per other thread here today with someone having a remote role that now requires them to commute into to the office.

My wife is in the same boat, she is at the stage where she is looking at doing courses that train her for working from home jobs. It is difficult to know what to do to be honest. Goodluck.
  • Heya.

If you have a resume then finding work is definitely easier. This is why we all need to have one. Concentrate on your skills as well in order to start with here. Make some brief summary notes too. Good luck. You can do this. It helps to have information. Seriously.

There is no point in doing courses if you don’t really like the course in question. Far from it in fact. In other words please do make sure that the course fits your personality as far as possible. Do your own research online in any case. You can find career books at your nearest library etc. Get some.

Practice your interview technique in the mean time to start with. Request some helpful feedback. Experience counts for a great deal in any industry these days. The only way to secure work is to be positive. Seriously. Concentrate on what you need to do. Finding work is easy. Keeping it is the hardest part most people will tell you. Always bear this in mind. Research office roles.

    For my helpful response:

Indeed (probably the biggest job platform) has implemented 'Remote' as a filter for job searching.

You can now select 'Hybrid Remote' (which I'd assume means popping into the office once a week - e.g. a field sales rep) or 'Remote' (which I'd assume means fully remote).

    For my unhelpful response:

Unfortunately for you, I feel there is a big swing away from remote working. While admittedly a small sample size, I speak to many senior managers in my day-to-day (I'm a Sales Director for a decent sized manufacturer) and I regularly hear the view that they feel WFH employees swing the lead.
    Know what you don't

If you're searching for legitimate work from home job opportunities, there are several fields to consider, including customer service, freelance writing, virtual assistance, and software development. However, finding reliable listings can be challenging.

For a comprehensive selection of verified remote jobs, I highly recommend checking out Online Remoter. They offer a wide range of job postings from reputable companies, ensuring that you find legitimate and suitable remote work opportunities.

If you and they were that reputable, you wouldn't be spamming other sites. Reported.
