  • The pension updates given on a yearly bases are as clear as mud - most of us just want a sentence say what our yearly pension may be assuming we stay on the current course - rather than the raw data dump we are given.

Thanks for the replies not the information I was hoping for! it feels like the worlds longest divorce its been going on since March 2023 and we have very limited assets and no children!
Unless you want to make a claim on your wife's pension (?) you can instruct your solicitor to proceed without the CETV. That will speed things up for you.

Definitely need the CETV as I believe it will be 6 figures and she has already understated all her other assets....

I think that if you are requesting a CETV and it's for the purposes of a divorce negotiation, you should specifically state that in the request - I have heard that there are additional calculations needed if it's for a divorce.

(unless of course you have an interest in delaying the process in which case you could claim you were not aware of this!).

A divorce CETV is one of the most complicated calculations in the world of DB pensions.

It isn't just one figure - it's a whole heap of data presented on a Form E.

There certainly are - and usually costs for providing the information.
