Morning all, thanks Gers.A very sticky night here, off soon to watch DGS in his 1st proper match of the season.DS2 is picking us up.Yesterday I had a bus trip to Bury market and M&s. Didn't get anything from either place after a good look round, but bought a dress and T shirt from 1 of the shops that had a sale on. I tried the dress on when I got in, and kept it on - determined to wear a dress at least once this summerWe had gammon and egg for tea, & whilst we were eating with the door open the red Arrows came flying overhead. I think they were on their way to Southport Air show. Not sure about tonight- I think DH fancies bbq ing.Hope you all have a lovely day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning allAnother hot one in store. Baking early before it gets too hot. I don't like spiders. Stripped the bed this morning half way through I put some in the washing basket, turned around and there was a very large one sitting there on the fitted sheet that I hadn't quite pulled off. It's legs were longer than mine {{shudder}} I went to get a glass and something to put under it and when I came back it had gone. Scared to go to bed tonight now!!Once my rock cakes come out of the oven I'm popping down to get my prescription that DH forgot to get yesterday, he's had to pop into work this morning and not sure when he will be back so I'll save him a job.Keep cool everyone x7

Morning folks and thanks GERS. Another lovely day is forecast before it all goes downhill from tomorrow! The weather over the last week has been an unexpected bonus after the rubbish summer we had.
I'm making a quick trip into town on the next bus before the heat of the day clobbers us. There are odd bits I want that I couldn't get on my order on Thursday.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. Take care all be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"7 -
Chrisca - cross posting. I've had three of those giant spiders this week. Aaargh I am a nervous wreck imagining them all over the place. I picked a bath mat up to go in the wash and one stampeded out from underneath it. I leapt nearly 6ft in the air! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"7

@TravellingAbuela You never forget do you! I've got a pair of shoes kept at the back door and a couple of years ago I put them on and wondered why one felt a bit uncomfortable when I slipped my foot in, took my foot out and a big one crawled out. I'm better than I used to be around them but the fear is always there.

Thought that I had posted again from my iPad, must have left it halfway through for my cool shower. I was so hot and sweaty overnight despite having all the upstairs windows cracked open.Yesterday I did a quick shopping trip, tried to go into the centre of Oban but abandoned that plan pretty soon as the traffic was so heavy both ways. I quickly went round the big roundabout and headed home again. In the early evening I visited friends, sat in their garden chatting and drinking a small gin in the blazing sunshine. So far today is very foggy and muggy. I have no real plans yet, something will come along no doubt.Hugs to our poorlies and a happy Saturday to all.6

Morning everyone
I was shattered after work yesterday so sat outside with my new book in the lovely sunshine. Does anyone else like Elizabeth Strout? She's one of my favourite authors.
No plans as yet for today other than cleaning and ironing this morning, but I could get little one for a sleepover later.
Her first assembly at big school was lovely and she got a star of the week certificate. So the did the rest of her class - only 8 in the class - and they all looked very proud of themselves standing at the front getting a big clap. They were playing outside when we were in the garden in the afternoon and little one came up to the fence to show me her new friend - the friend said 'oh does your mummy work at nursery?' Little one 'no that's not my mummy that's my old granny!' Thanks!
I have a raspberry bush in my garden - accidentally it just grew - can anyone tell me how far I cut it back now the raspberries are finished?
Florenceem - you made me laugh with your story of the joiner - it sounded like an episode of Some Mothers do have em!
Well I'd better make a move or I'll get nothing done - hope you all have a good day today x6 -
Chrisca50 - that spider would have to be found before I got into bed. I shuddered at the spider in your shoe story.
Going to take a heavy shopping trolley full of stuff to the charity shop today then get some shopping.
Really sad news yesterday afternoon - young lad from my old Church passed away - only 14 - his cancer recurred. So that is another funeral - already had the one for our soldier - 8 days ago - who fell downstairs - on Monday we have the service for our 33 year old soldier now we have lost young N.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Hi everyone,
We're alone - the family have gone for a week in Wales. It's unfortunate timing with Esben's new nursery but they'd booked in the days before they decided to move him and we arranged for friends to come and visit while they were gone so they couldn't change things. It will give him time to recover from this week because he's been getting very tired and also coming out very hangry as he's not eating the lunches.
Our friends arrive tomorrow and stay until Thursday, I must admit part of me is thinking I could do with some recuperation time, my weeks are so full on. We decided to join (rejoin really) the gym, it has a pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi so we can go up and relax. I took a leaf out of your book Gers and went to an aquafit class yesterday and I really enjoyed it. No bikes were involved but it was a good workout without leaving me exhausted.
I hope those with holidays are enjoying them, have a good week away TA.
I also hope anyone who is poorly or has a poorly relative is doing as well as can be expected in the heat.
Mehefin, how are things with you, is it time for one of your updates?
Have a good day.6
