Handed notice in

I handed my notice in last Friday. My boss is away so doesn't no till tomorrow. Over managers no. I am regretting my decision. Would going back in it be messy. I have accepted another job but not signed anything

Are you really regretting the decision, or is it just the nerves most people getting when changing jobs, the old "have I done the right thing?" doubts we all get?

You obviously disliked the job enough to apply for another job, go to the interview and then accept the offer - so what's changed?

I was getting stressed were I work, possibly over nothing. The stress seems to have gone now. I was getting stressed over the job offer too.

I want to stay were I am. But this may make the situation worse

Sometimes honesty works. If you feel strongly you can always follow up and say you've changed your mind and wish to continue. As long as they haven't accepted your resignation then youstill have time to withdraw it. That said, I think you need to sit down and think what you really want as applying for another job clearly shows some dissatisfaction. Good luck!

Did you hand it in using your employer's email system? It may be possible to recall the message, if they haven't read it yet, so they never see it. Clearly you need to sit down and think about what you really want as securing a new job generally doesn't happen over night so your desires to leave weren't just fleeting

Technically notice begins the day after it is issued and you have no right to withdraw it.

However the employer may well agree to you withdrawing your notice but I'm afraid that is totally up to them.

All you can do is ask nicely!

Has the stress gone because you know you have an out? That tends to be a real thing so think it through fully.

Just go for your new job, never look back, who’s to say the stress won’t return if you stay..?

I find "recalling" an email doesn't mean that it isn't delivered only that you have now alerted the recipient that an email you sent contains something you regret sending.  They can choose to read it or not.

In fact it could be wrong for them not to read it.  For example you could later say you had handed in your notice and produce the email to prove you had and leave on a date of which the company would not be aware.
