Inverter external temperature?

Options
We've just has a GivEnergy Hybrid PV Inverter installed and are somewhat surprised to see how warm it gets.  The front of the case is around 43 degrees.  Is this normal or does it indicate an issue?

Thanks

  • The heatsink in mine is currently 49C at just over 50% capacity so sounds normal to me.

Where is it installed? Outside, loft, somewhere else?

My inverter, inside in a cupboard, is currently at 36c in a room that is 23c (inverter temperature is based on the data from the inverter itself)

it got up to 43c whilst cooking dinner.

Givenergy specifications show operating temperature range from -20 to 60 degrees C with derating above 50 degrees. My inverter has similar specifications and is currently at 45 degrees on a cloudless and very warm day.

Poking around in the settings I see my Solis inverter reports it's IGBT temperature.
Today it peaked at 52 deg C, which (considering it's in my loft) didn't seem too bad!
