What does this mean?

Options
  • 33 years of full contributions
  • 7 years to contribute before 5 April 2030
  • 11 years when you did not contribute enough
Does it mean that to get a Full state pension, I need to contribute another 11 years or does it simply mean that I 'could' contribute another 11 years
I can get in another 6 until I am 67 years old
But last year - it said the same and I have contributed a year since then!!

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

It means you have paid into the system for 44 years but in 11 of those years it wasnt enough to generate a "stamp". How many years is it saying you need for a full pension?

It may not have updated for 22/23 yet, which you also needs to consider.

You haven't given enough info for us to say whether you will need to contribute further to get to the full state pension - we'd need to know that actual amount(s) quoted in your forecast for that.

On their own the figures are pretty meaningless, just a part of the wider forecast all of which is needed to make any sensible comment.
Answering the questions you were asked back in July when you asked pretty much the same question would enable people to tell you exactly what your forecast means and what, if anything, you need to do to achieve the maximum pension.

Can you post the entire statement please rather than the drip feeding that is occurring?

    Sorry but what's missing?

    You were contracted out

In the past you’ve been ‘contracted out’ of the additional State Pension. When you were contracted out:you and your employers paid lower rate National Insurance contributions, orsome of your National Insurance contributions were paid into another pension scheme, such as a personal or stakeholder pensionThe amount of additional State Pension you would have been paid if you had not been contracted out is known as the Contracted Out Pension Equivalent (COPE). Pension Equivalent (COPE)

Your COPE estimate is £53.65 a week

This will not affect your State Pension forecast. The COPE amount is paid as part of your other pension schemes, not by the government.

In most cases the private pension scheme you were contracted out to:

    • will include an amount equal to the COPE amount
    • may not individually identify the COPE amount

The total amount of pension paid by your workplace or personal pension schemes will depend on the scheme and on any investment choices.

The amount of State Pension you have already accrued would help.

Current weekly £££.pp amount accrued up to April 2022 (or 2023 as some have been updated)
Number of pre April 2016 NI years full
Number of post April 2016 NI years full
Tax year you reach state retirement
Any COPE amount shown, in a click link in "You've been in a contracted-out pension scheme" if there is one.
Years which show not full and prices

Estimate based on your National Insurance record up to 5 April 2023

    £164.74 a week

Forecast if you contribute another 7 years before 5 April 2030

    £203.85 a week
