Morning All
Thanks for the start nmlc.
We're having a late summer here, lovely and sunny and warm. Once I had finished all my jobs yesterday I sat out and read for a while - certainly lifts the spirits.
My neighbour gave me loads of rhubarb yesterday so I made jam, I don't really need it but it will be handed out to those who like it. One lot had ginger in but there wasn't enough for all of it.
The garden got a good tidy but the grass didn't need cutting, maybe later in the week. The sweet peas are still flowering, they have been quite spectacular this year.
Hope you have a good holiday Nanny.
Enjoy having your visitor Gers.
Hugs to anyone in need.
Happy Monday! Take care. XX8 -
Morning folks.Yesterday was a lovely sunny day. My friend arrived too early to check in to her hotel so watched the yachts move through the canal sea lock for a while. I joined her and then took her on a wee potted tour. In the evening we had dinner at her hotel. She had lobster (😱) whilst I had poached chicken, a tasty treat for us both. This morning we are going on a boat trip up the coast towards, and maybe into, the Corryvrekan whirlpool. I've done this before, it's pretty scary but so thrilling too. Despite the great forecast I'll be wrapped up in layers.I hope that Nan got off on her adventures OK. Hugs to our poorlies. Happy Monday to all.8

Good morning, it's a sunny start here. Yesterday was nice as well.
Gers, I've read about that whirlpool, sounds well worth a visit. Hope and your friend have a great day.
You had a busy day making jam Camelot, rhubarb is lovely.
We went for a walk yesterday in our riverside park, it was busy.
Not much on today except book club and a bit of shopping.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.9 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. It feels hot already and I need to go in town on the first free pass bus, hoping to avoid the heat of the day. I have some meds to collect otherwise I wouldn't bother.
GERS I remember seeing the whirlpool on one of Paul Murton's Grand Tours. Enjoy your trip. I thought of you yesterday whilst I was watching Countryfile featuring Judi Dench with her love of Scotland. She was being interviewed at one point in Inveraray.. I have fond memories of our visits there.
Once home from town I think my book in the garden will be beckoning, until it gets too hot. Yesterday was spoiled by a noisy gathering of young folk in a neighbouring garden. It got louder as the afternoon wore on so I guess the drink was flowing! It should be peaceful today as all roundabout will be back at work.
DD and the girls are back from the van today as it's school tomorrow after the long holiday. They have fared much better than I did the week before with the weather. I am miss-timing my next visit too! I am planning on going next Sunday for a week, just as the mini heatwave is due to end!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. Take care all, be safe xx

Morning everyone and thank you for starting us off nmlc
It looks like being a lovely day here
My neighbour gives me lots of her rhubarb, but I have never made it into jam - I'll give it a try next time I get some.
I have never heard of the Corryvekan whirlpool, but it sounds fantastic.
Hope you all have a good Monday xx6 -

Inverarary Castle was hosting a food and crafts fair over the weekend so was one to avoid. It's still dull here though the forecast is for the sun to break through late morning. I've got a quick wash on the go so I can hang it out before leaving. Maybe I'll have a go at mowing the back lawn tonight, more likely I'll put it off until tomorrow evening. No bellowing bulls last night, thank goodness.8 -
Morning all
Lovely bright day here I have a wash just finishing and that can go out on the line for a while, one lady coming today as the rude one has decided not to come back, I’m actually quite relieved at least I don’t have to put up with the rudeness anymore! I think we will go to a local gardens for a walk round and then have some cake and tea in the cafe.
Dinner tonight will be something quick like fish fingers, might do a fish finger sandwich 😃 that always reminds me of Nels as she loved that ! I do miss chatting to her.
Taff and Nanny have great holidays xxx
Have good days all and take care xx7 -
Morning everyone
The sunshine yesterday was spoilt here by strong winds - it seems a bit calmer today so I'm hoping to sit out the back later and read.
I'm going down to nursery this morning to help my boss get our classroom ready for Wednesday - we do it together every September - I think the other staff must think the fairies do it as no one has ever offered to help!
DD has to take little one down to school this afternoon as a nurse is going in to do refresher training with the staff for her blood sugar monitor.
However, a different nurse, for her tube feeding, rang DD on Friday to say school hasn't arranged training for that - so DD will be on the phone first thing this morning....she was so annoyed cos it was meant to be arranged for this week. One of us can go across from nursery to do it but it's not a good start.
hope everyone has a good day today and the sun is shining x7 -
Morning all.
Bright and sunny here, once the heat haze lifted, so I have the first load of washing hanging out and a second in the machine.
Had a super day at Wallingford yesterday but glad I wasn't dancing as it was so hot. Got there early enough to have a cup of tea with an old friend before we started plus had 10 mins in a pub music session when we had a break after lunch but otherwise it was all go. DH had made roast chicken for when I got back early evening and then we just chilled.
Today I have a short list for the s/m and might make cakes for DGS, who is coming tomorrow.
Have a good day everyone.7 -
