    There’s also a transfer fee and it may well have to be fully crystalised in order to transfer so fees x2. 
    Not huge, £150 I think for either, but it’s the same whether it’s £10k or £100k. 
    Not sure why he went for them originally to merge a couple of old work dc schemes, possibly recommended by someone he worked with at the time or there was an offer on fees or cashback etc.

    I can believe it may have to be sold to cash, but I can't believe it's required to be crystallised - in fact I'd think that was illegal.

    I wasn’t sure if you could transfer both crystallised and uncrystallised funds,  perhaps I’m confusing it with funds that have already started drawdown.
