Part time working removal of car allowance

I’ve worked full time for a large Company for over 20 years but recently applied to reduce my hours and go part time. As part of my current contract of employment I’m given a monthly car allowance but by moving to part time the Co. Wants to remove this and is refusing to consider paying this pro-rata. Can they do this if I’m requesting flexible working?

That old chestnut: it depends. On the basis that part timers should be treated no less favourably than full timers, you should be entitled to a pro rated car allowance - BUT has your role changed in a way which no longer requires you to have access to a car (assuming you needed one for work purposes while working full time)?
