Light - cloudy at the moment, hoping sky will clear and sun will shine.
Dinner last night was LO chicken and mushroom pie with mash veg and gravy. Tonight I'm not sure, will find something.
Normal chores to do.

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.I think it's fine, we've had some nice days this week. It's cool in the evenings though.I haven't posted for a day or two, haven't done anything or been anywhere!I'm going to pick up a parcel today from one of the shopping outlets near here, I ordered some cropped cotton trousers in the Cotton Traders sale, I though they might come in handy when we go to Australia.DH is recovered from that nasty lurgy he had, apart from the cough, but even that is easing off.Hope everyone is ok, especially young Esther.Take care folks.12

Morning All
Hoping for a nice day, it's looking promising! Washing to go out, will do the towels tomorrow.
Busy day for you yesterday Florence, my thoughts are with your soldier's family.
Hope Esther is recovering Snoozer.
When are you off on your holibobs Nanny?
First day of the month (I always think of Dumpling), we seem to be having summer a bit late here - the allotment has sprung back into life, green beans anyone?
I (hopefully) have the dentist this afternoon at last, can't wait to have this over with.
Have a good day, take care. XX12 -
Morning everyone and thank you for starting us off nmlc
Not sure about the weather today - it's looking grey atm.
Yes, Camelot I also remember Dumpling
I am off out for lunch today.
Have a good day xx

Hi everyone, White rabbits,
I thought I'd pop in with a quick post before anyone else gets up.
Esther is fine now, thank you, we're hoping the cut won't scar too badly, it's just above her right eyebrow.
We met Crystal and Nate at a country park yesterday, had lunch and a play on the play equipment there, he was his usual sunny self. Then I came home and made a new dish, tagliatelle with courgette, peas and burrata, it was very nice although the recipe said to make your own pasta but I just bought some fresh from the supermarket, life is too short.
Today a rep from a new cleaning company is coming to look round so hopefully we'll have a new cleaner in place soon, it's not just the drudge of cleaning that I dislike it's the fact that the house remains tidier when a stranger is coming in to clean it, if nothing else things get picked up and put away at least once a week. Laura is selling outgrown clothes and equipment atm so we have a lot of piles of stuff hanging around. I'm not by any means a neat freak but constant chaos has a detrimental affect on my mood.
I can hear Esben darting about upstairs so I had better go.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. After a 6 day dry spell we were back to rain overnight. Only light stuff but the mizzle is promised to stay with us most of the day. I too often think of Dumpling and wonder how her family are doing. I think of other regulars too who suddenly went AWOL over the years. I wonder if SPEKY ever found his forever lady! We never did get round to buying our hats did we!
Yesterday didn't go to plan. Boiler service man (originally due next week) rang mid morning to see if I was in and could he do it around lunchtime instead? That was no problem. He's a right talker and spends as much time chatting as he does servicing! I cba starting any jobs by the time he left and, as we had warm sunshine, I took my book into the garden and enjoyed the sun instead.
This morning it will be a quick dust and vac all around as I am meeting my DF for late lunch at the carvery. This has kept getting postponed for various reasons but at last she can make it. Much catching up to do in the little bar afterwards.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies and poorly loved ones. Take care, be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning folks.Yesterday I made it to Glasgow and back by 1pm, the drive was simply lovely, something to remember later in the year. I did only a little food shopping. Whilst I was away the gardener came to do some tidying up, it all looks so neat now.Today it's a bit of monthly banking and I have to wait in for a parcel delivery by courier. I expect that the washing machine may get a spin as the wearer forecast is fairly good.Who could forget the lovely Dumpling. 🥲Hugs to our poorlies and those who are sad. Happy Friday to all.11

Morning all, thanks nmlc.It seems like it might be a decent day but pretty cloudy atm.Good luck Coxy on your travels- give us a wave when you're going through Lancashire - ok technically our town is in Greater Manchester these days since the borders were messed about with
but I will always be a Lancashire lass. Hope the coach isn't too onerous.
NRA hope your DM is ok ,poor lady.I had a quiet day in yesterday, did some low carb baking for myself ( crackers and a coconut cake) Cake now frozen in squares. I also had a nice walk through the park and stopped to talk to an older neighbour on the way back.DS & DGS stopped by for his customary ice lolly on the way back from footie training, he's off out for the day with his DM & SD but they'll drop him at ours on their way home.I was going to pop into town but it looks like the traffic is a nightmare, there was a fire yesterday that has meant one of the main roads now has temp traffic lights, and another is closed, so I may not bother.Wishing everyone a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Forgot to wish Coxy happy walking - you always bring to mind a song from my childhood:I love to go a-wandering,
Along the mountain track,
And as I go, I love to sing,
My knapsack on my back.Chorus:
Val-deri,Val-dera,
Val-deri,
Val-dera-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha
Val-deri,Val-dera.
My knapsack on my back. Now it's my earworm for the day!
NRA - I thought that you had already moved. Happy packing up.
Florence - I hope that all went well yesterday. Your dolls remind me the two Holly Hobbit ones I made in the 70s from Laura Ashley bags of squares. They 'lived' with my late DM and are now with her crossword friend having aquired earrings and handbags.:)
Yesterday my NHS Scotland invitation for COVID and 'flu vaccinations popped up. I went online to book my appointment, earliest ones are early October so I've bagged one. I'd also like the shingles one so will phone the surgery later.
The sun has already disappeared, the herd of cows has reappeared and the two bulls are still rumbling at each other.

Morning all you lovelies. All the clothes were sorted yesterday but I had to stand behind Mr Fix It and keep cracking the whip 😂 I rang Dad last night too and getting a conversation out of him was like pulling teeth, hope he's in a better mood today.
I've been out food shopping this morning, only to get some fresh stuff to take with us. I wandered down the coffee/ tea aisle by mistake and there were hardly any tea bags on the shelves, only a few very large boxes. Do people know something that I don't ? Everything seems to have gone up in price again too, I don't know how some people are coping to feed their family !
Some very missed posters names being brought out this morning. I'll throw the lovely Nelski in the mix too if I may. Oh! and Silver Oldie and Mona.
This morning we are going to DD's for a slice of cake as it's DGS's 14 birthday today, oh where did that tiny baby go ? Then we're home and a bit of cleaning will be done. Why do we always have to have everything spick and span before we go on holiday or is is just me ? I must be mad 🤪
Camelot We're going to Wiltshire again and to the same site as it's lovely and peaceful. Hope you get your appointment at the dentist and all goes well.
Gers now you've done it, I'm going to be muttering that song all day too.
I'm glad that the poorly ones are on the mend, esp Esther and Mr Scarlet. Coxy happy walking holiday. NRA happy packing. Sorry if I've missed someone/ something.
Take care all
nan xx
