My gorgeous but temperamental car broke down last night at work.
Spent four hours waiting for the RAC who then gave me a hard time - apparently I should have a different cover for breakdowns during work hours.
Pointed out I wasn't actually at work as I wasn't being paid to stand at the side of the road in minus three temperatures.
Faced with losing a week's work from two jobs, I asked my mam if I could use the car SHE PAYS for my jobless lil sis to drive, as I can't get the part I need until the New Year.
Lil sis has refused and mam is backing her.
She needs the car to get about apparently, to clubs, and parties, though not to work, as doing a law degree which finished last year has just totally worn the poor thing out.
Argh!
Sorry to rant y'all, but I moved out when I was 17 and have worked my !!! off since.
Lil sister refuses to work, pay board, or return to education and my parents continue to pander and even celebrate her "free spirit/free loading" lifestyle.

An MG F which I bought off a family member for much cheapness - and has since cost me tons.
I did offer cash for lil sis's car and even to take over the payments when I sell my car, but she wasn't having it.DEBT FREE! Sep '08/£9,800 in Oct '06 :beer:0 -
Oh my god! I'm sure your mum and sis both have their reasons, but I'm with you on this one! But then I also have a selfish little sis who gets away with murder - how do they do it?!?
Hope you manage to get something sorted out soon x0 -

My area manager is lending me his car tonight, and my wonderful fella is having a bash at fixing my car with some plumbing fixtures and fittings!
He's sooo good with cars.
Was meant to be going on a works do tonight but cancelled so as I can work.
Telling myself a 140-mile round trip for a £22 meal ISN'T what I wanted to do.DEBT FREE! Sep '08/£9,800 in Oct '06 :beer:0 -

You know what they say.
Can't pick 'em.
Deep breaths and try to rise above it, comfort myself with the fact I earn a decent-ish wage, have nice things for the most part, and haven't had to turn to parents for financial help in some time.DEBT FREE! Sep '08/£9,800 in Oct '06 :beer:0 -

You have my sympathies!! I had a similar experience as you earlier in the year. I was using my sisters car (paying tax, insurance, petrol etc) because she couldn't use it as she had defaulted on her insurance, she was selling it but until then I could use it. We had a major row and she refused me permission to use it. Even after I had just paid to have it serviced! Didn't get much help from my parents, she got all the help to sell it and get her a new car!!
Luckily this helped me get my own car, no longer dependant on what anyone says or thinks.
Your sis sounds like my sis, can't/won't do anything herself. It's frustrating but at least you can look after yourself.Lightbulb Moment  (10/12/07) :j

The MGF is known to be prone to all sorts of problems and has a reputation for being unreliable too, but it is a nice looking car. The motoring sub-board in the travel section could offer you some support and help with the car in future. Happy Christmas.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

ditto, my MGF is currently sat awaiting a new engine since it blew up on the M6  With hindsight I wish I'd never bought it but it looked so nice and a really girly purple colour too
Hope you manage to get yours sorted, I'm still saving up to get mine repaired :eek:ITV Winners Club #87 :eek:0
