Personal Pension Rebate With Profit fund (Reassure)

Options
Hello all
I'm still quite green when it comes to financial matters but i have been trying to contribute more to my work/personal pension but have come across some paperwork relating to a Reassure Personal Pension Rebate With Profit fund plan, there is around 48K in there and looks to have been created around 1992 maybe contracting out of serps or something else, it does not seem to be doing a great deal and i can't seem to find how well it is actually doing, i know it kind of relies on the profits part to boost it's amount.

So my question is would i potentially do better by transferring this to say Vanguard where i have a S&S ISA but put it in the pension part? or do i leave where it is?

Hoping someone has some words of wisdom, just hoping to make it grow a little better for the future that's all

For ref I've just turned 50

Thanks :)

With profits funds smooth out the return retaining money in the good times to improve returns when the markets fall.  Also they have annual and terminal  bonuses

You may find that a with profits fund of that age has valuable guarantees that are more important than the published return of the fund.  So I suggest you check exactly what the fund is first.
  • Thanks for the reply, i'll see if i can find out which fund my money is in, it just didn't tell me on my reassure portal.
