8 jars of 2-quince 5-apple chutney made yesterday - OH loves his chutney - and 6 of 2-quince marmalade made the day before. That'll keep us going over the winter! But I still have a box of assorted apples & quinces to get through; they're not in great condition thanks to the weather so I'm not going to be able to keep them long-term. I wonder whether quinces will dehydrate?
Checked out the medlars yesterday & they're coming along nicely; I may need to trot up there with a bag & rescue some. Apparently they're usually just left to rot on the ground & they're too close to a road to be a safe resource for hedgehogs, if they eat them.

i picked some blackberries a fortnight ago and made bramble jelly. While getting ready to go to pick them I was told about a nearby ‘plum’ tree. I went for a look, turns out it’s damsons. It’s actually in a garden so I knocked on their door and asked. They have picked all they can reach but i’m welcome to go next year. And i came away with some of their plums…. the lady whose house it was has made jam and was fed up…so I’m stocked up with plum jam, too.
