EVRI tracking receipt, EBay said another seller has used that tracking number

I posted 2 parcels today with Evri and marked them as Dispatched on EBay. When I put the first Evri tracking number on, it was fine then the second tracking number, it wouldn't accept it and it gave me the automated messages saying:
'! Tracking number added is already used by a different seller'.

I can't understand how that could possibly happen as the shop assistant just took it off the pack he has which are all stuck together until one is pulled off so can't get mixed up. I'm going to phone EBay tomorrow and can take photos of both my receipts and also a screenshot of the message I received on trying to enter the tracking number.

I just wondered if this has ever happened to anyone. I've sent a lot of parcels with Evri and it's never happened to me before.

    Are you sure you entered the number correctly? I only ask because I often have trouble deciding if the tracking is a nought or a letter O but that is usually with RM.

    How did you pay for the parcels, was it online or at the parcel shop? I've never used the number from the shop receipt (but I only get one receipt for all of my parcels so have no choice), only the long number that goes on the parcel, from memory they start C00HHA**********

    Have you tried checking the number yourself on the Evri?

    As Moonpenny says the tear off receipt pad isn’t the tracking details it’s just the receipt. The tracking will be on the label, so if label was bought online then you can trace the tracking number through that. There are no tear off labels, only the large white sticky ones that are generated either at home or via the machine in the shop, and each of those is unique. 

    Then as olgadapolga says, have you tried the tracking number yourself ?

    I buy my postage direct on eBay which is handy as tracking numbers for couriers and RM just show up automatically.

    So, I learned something today! If you type in the receipt number into Evri's tracking, it will show you all of the parcels and their long tracking numbers (see below) scanned on that single receipt.



    From what I understand, OP has different receipts for each parcel, so the receipt  numbers should work.

    Although there's no need to get individual receipts being as the receipt number will give you all of the tracking numbers for all of the parcels sent.

    Silly question, @ailey but did you try to upload the same receipt number for both parcels? That's the sort of thing I'd do and then be perplexed as to why it didn't work.
