Hello All,
I sent a debt proof letter to people acting on behalf of AMEX (AIC) who I think ignored it (I have proof of delivery) and I've now been passed to NCO Europe for collection.
Should they have sent it for collection? Do I have any recourse against them (AMEX or AIC)?
Many Thanks in advance.

Given that debt collectors have no powers at all, I’d simply inform the debt collectors that you are waiting for proof of the debt and won’t be engaging until that is done. In writing, not by phone. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Do Amex own the debt? I think there's a follow-up letter in the stickies
