🏷️ Tagging - Possible new option for Competitions Time

I don't think people enter comps by searching categories like that. Most of us just work through by date or search for those ending soon and pick which ones we want as we go. I wouldn't use tags. I'd rather any efforts for compers went to being able to see entered/skipped on search results pages. Sorry - just my thoughts.4

@mjm3346 It just doesn't seem a very logical way to work through them - as in, I'll do all the tech prizes first, then the spa breaks etc - but yeah, everyone is different. I still think the search results need to show entered/skipped. I do really miss the old forum, and so many compers left when it was changed.2

If you enter lots then all in one place with no sort necessary like MSE is probably easiest. There are already sites that sort by category and the numbers appear to show that once you move away from cash/vouchers the number of "hits" drops considerably (I probably only use 1/3rd of the categories on the site I mainly use)

Not tag related but where can we make sure skimlinks is turned off @MSE_Stephen. I just went through the link on this comp here and it is showing referral link as source=forums.moneysavingexpert.com when clicking on the link.

Hi @EnglishWelshie
Skimlinks is currently turned off across the forum.
We will be re-activating them in the future, but we won't be bringing them back until we can offer the option in your settings to turn them off if you don't want them.
Looking at that link, it seems to be just recording where it's detected you came from, rather than the link being changed by MSE.

As a regular daily user of the comps forum, I just want to dip in and out as quickly as possible. The format works as it currently is, and I personally would not use any tags.
I am not keen on anything else being added - I use a mobile device, and already the top of each page feels like it's getting longer and longer before I reach the competitions. So the possibility of an extra line being added to each competition is definitely not welcomed. That's my opinion anyway!1 -
Would one option be to utilise the tags to hide competitions that you have already entered? This used to be available and I for one greatly miss this featureYou laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same1

maybe a filter for ones you have already ticked or crossed and a way to filter out all the IG/FB ones etc. i would like to be able to unclick the entered button if i do it by accident and also a way to make the thanks button more obvious when you click it. otherwise the forum works fine for meComping on MSE since May '09::j
