Leeds Building Society: Confusion over document requirement

Leeds Building Society has requested "Written confirmation from HMRC regarding the applicant's employment and income history for the past three years up to the present." However, we have already submitted employment history documentation obtained by contacting HMRC helpline, and regrettably, it has not been accepted. Surprisingly, even our broker is uncertain about the specific documents Leeds Building Society requires. Has anyone encountered a similar situation before? Any suggestions on how to navigate and make progress in this challenging scenario would be greatly appreciated.

We were recently asked;-
"Written confirmation from HMRC as to the applicant’s employment and income history for the last two years. App to phone HMRC directly to request."
We were provided with a letter from HMRC addressed to the applicant which showed employment history for the last two tax years;-
employer name
tax reference
start date
end date
pay
tax paid
