Have you had a pay increase this year?

I have heard that the median pay has increased by 7.8% from the same time last year. What payrise - if any- have you had, as I don't know anyone who has had that much of an increase? I had 4% in January 2023. I'm referring to company wide pay increases, rather than individual increases.

I know plenty of people with above inflation pay rises, let alone 7.9%, I also know plenty who have had none, or low single digit rises, that is the nature of how averages work.
Personally year on year does not matter, in 2020 due to covid I had a 62% drop in my income, then that went back up in 2022 with a 60% increase, however that still meant I was only at 64% of my 2019 income. No change this year, but I will likely increase my income by 20% next year, but that will still mean that my 2024 income will only be 75% of my 2019 income. To further complicate matters, my pay, as in PAYE income has not changed at all over that period, because it is a low level and my remuneration is largely dividend.0 -
3 - 6% increaseBear in mind that people who are 23 or older on minimum wage received a 9.7% increase this year. It stands to reason that people who are just above minimum wage would have got a similar increase, to make sure they are being paid above the minimum wage.
My first sentence above is fact, the second sentence is just me making assumptions.
My company gives a salary review every March, this year in the UK the average was less than 6%. There are very few people at my company who are paid minimum wage though, so there was less pressure on my employer to give higher increases.
With labour shortages in a lot of areas the way to ensure a wage increase is to find a new job. Sometimes you don't even have to leave, just tell your employer you're leaving and they might offer you more money to stay.0 -

Above 8% increaseSince December 2021 had 16.2% increase in 6 monthly rises (ie.4 rises)0

3 - 6% increaseI got a 5% rise a month ago, and expecting another 3-5% in December based on the current contract that we work on. Slight chance it may go to 6-8% but I don't expect it.
